Making Decorations

[Djaq]

Djaq giggled and carried on painting the star. "Why don't you help with some painting Gary." She said handing him a brush. "That Robin could use some red...don't you think?" she giggled at his distraught expression and sighed, placing down the star which she had finished, and picking up another decoration which she started to paint purple.

[Will Scarlett]

Will tried to hide a smile and continued to chip away at the piece of wood, that was getting slowly smaller and smaller, but still didn't really look like anything. Oh well, he had already made enough. He put down the piece of wood and picked up the string that Gary had bought with him.
"Shall I start stringing them?" he asked whilst already cutting up the string and picking up one of the decorations and attempted to attach the string onto it somehow.

[Gary Taylor]

"Wha...?" Gary was confused with how they were acting. This couldn't be a deep dark secret or else they wouldn't be smiling and giggling. "Bu... Your name's Djaq." Is all he said. This was very confusing.

[Djaq]

Ignoring Wills last remark, she turned to face Gary. They had become quite good friends in the last few days, and she felt he had the right to know. "Ok Gary, do you promise not to tell anyone what I am about to tell you." she said, grabbing his shoulders and looking him straight in the eye. "I have only ever told Will...and erm...and Alan about this. And I don't want the whole world to know. Do you promise?"

[Gary Taylor]

"Of course Djaq, I won't tell a soul if you ask me not to." Gary replied. Will hadn't thought he should know, it was just making him think his 'theory' about himself and Will was more and more correct.

[Djaq]

Djaq took a deep breath and looked down at the ground. "My name is not Djaq. My name is Saffiya." she said quietly. "Djaq was my twin brothers name...he was killed by the Crusaders." she said sadly. "I came here as a Prisoner or War - pretending to be my brother." she sighed "I wanted to live in his memory." There was a long silence, Djaq staring at the ground, Gary staring at Djaq and Will staring at Gary. After a while, Djaq spoke. "Well, now you know." She picked up another decoration and started painting it blue.

[Gary Taylor]

Gary stayed silent for a few seconds. "Oh... Djaq - Saf... Djaq," he said clumbsily, "I'm so sorry," was all he said, and he thought it was best they didn't talk too much about, or linger on, the subject.

[Will Scarlett]

"So um..." said Will trying to change the subject "... um... shall we try putting up the tree now? We can always finish the decorations up later..." he looked around at the others.

[Djaq]

"Good idea." said Djaq, getting up slowly and shuffling over to the tree, that was lying in the middle of the clearing looking rather sad and neglected. "So how are we going to do this?"

[Will Scarlett]

Will put down the decoration he had just stringed and walked over to Djaq and the tree. "I dunno..." he looked over at Gary "Do you have any ideas?"

[Gary Taylor]

"Well we need to attach the ropes to the tree first, I think." Gary said. "I've already cut them into equal pieces, just cut them more if they're too long. Attach them all equal distances apart." He picked up one coil of rope and threw it and Djaq, who caught it, and another at Will, who caught his too. Gary picked one up for himself. "Do you think we should be doing this first?"

[Will Scarlett]

"Yeah sure..." said Will attaching his piece of rope to the top of the tree "What now?"

[Djaq]

Djaq copied what the other two were doing with their ropes, making sure she was getting it right. They seemed to know what they were doing.

[Gary Taylor]

"Now I guess we need to find what we're going to attach to the other side of the rope. A stake, and stick it in the ground? Or just something heavy?" Gary asked. He seemed to be doing a lot of telling them what to do, whhich was bad. "You guys choose."

[Djaq]

Djaq laughed. "I know nothing about this kind of thing!" she exclaimed. This was different for Djaq, normally she was the one telling everyone about everything. But she knew nothing of big manly jobs, like hoisting up trees or putting stakes into the ground. She was after all, a woman. She laughed again. "You boys decide what to do, I'm just here to take orders." she said sarcastically, but adding a small smile.
