Making Decorations

[Will Scarlett]

Will and Djaq left the camp and started wandering round the forest in search of some wood to make decorations out of. But before they had got very far, Will turned to Djaq and asked seriously, and still with a hint of worry in his voice "Are you sure you're ok now? Cos, well, I know you're trying to put it behind you, but if you're still hurt..." he trailed off waiting for an answer.

[Djaq]

"I'm fine now Will..." she lyed, still feeling the searing pain by her rib. "Don't worry about me. Lets focus on the subject at hand. We need to find wood, make decorations, and fast." she said wondering off deeper into the forest. "Have you got any ideas for a big decorations, like...a centre piece?"

[Will Scarlett]

"Um no not really... maybe... um..." he wracked his brain for ideas "...I havn't really had much time to think recently...I dunno, do you have any ideas?" he asked whilst still walking further into the heart of the forest "Well I was thinking maybe... of making lots of little decorations to hang on a tree maybe... um... we could find a fir tree and somehow get it into the middle of the clearing and then we could decorate that... it would be quite simple, but effective and you can't really go wrong with a good old christmas tree... what do you think?" he asked looking at her hopefully.

[Djaq]

"That sounds great!" exclaimed Djaq, hugging him side on. "Ooohh, you're so clever!" Then she released him and turned serious. "Where are we going to find a fir tree? There should be a bunch of them somewhere in this forest..." she said looking around. "It would need to be quite big..."

[Will Scarlett]

"Good point..." he looked at her puzzled for a bit "And it' not just a case of where to find one... it's more of a case of getting it there...
and making it stand up once it's there..." he looked a bit miffed with himself "Maybe it isn't such a good idea after all..."

[Gary Taylor]

"Will! Djaq!" Gary called. He walked up to them. He had decided that he wanted to get out and about rather than sit in a hammock all day. "I figured I should get some fresh air. And I can do something. What are you two doing?" he asked. Hoping they weren't planning on some 'alone time'.

[Will Scarlett]

Will turned around to see Gary coming towards them "Hi Gary... we were just wondering, number one, where to find a fir tree, and number two, how to get it from wherever we find it, into the clearing, and number three, how then to make it stand up..." he grinned t the almost impossibility of the task, "Do you have any ideas?"

[Gary Taylor]

"Erm... Well, finding one shouldn't be TOO difficult, this is a forest." Gary smiled, "Um... If its small enough we should be able to get it where we want with people power and... making it stand up... Oh! We could just attach four seperate ropes to each side and attach the OTHER side of each rope to a peg in the ground, if we get the weights right, it'll stay up."

[Djaq]

Djaq just smiled at the two men. The whole concept of a Christmas Tree sounded very strange to her, chopping down a tree, just to put it somewhere else and decorate it with strange objects! It did sound rather wonderful though..."Gary! You're a genius!" she said grinning when he spoke. "So wheres the nearest place to the clearing where we can find a 'Christmas Tree'" she said cautiously, trying to make sure she had pronounced it right.

[Will Scarlett]

"Erm... well you know the lake, well on the other side of it from here, there is a big patch of fir trees, but that's ages awy, and it would be hard to get it back to the clearing..." he looked at the other two hopefully "Do either of you know of a place where we could get one that was closer?"

[Gary Taylor]

Gary thought for a moment. He seemed to remember seeing a fir tree close up, in the forest recently... "Ah! Djaq, when we first ran into Guy and his gang, and we fought them... i'm not sure if i'm just imagining things but... wasn't there a fir tree there? I seem to remember a guard swing at me, miss and hit a tree, which looked like a fir... but... do you remember?" Gary was uncertain.

[Djaq]

Djaq laughed. "When I fight, I don't really think about trees." she said smiling. "But I suppose we're just going to have to take your word for it. Shall we try and find our way back there? It was only a little way off the clearing surely..." she said, thinking back.

[Will Scarlett]

"Yeah sure... lead the way!" he said smiling at Djaq "To the fir tree!" he grinned.

[Gary Taylor]

A little while later they reached the clearing. "Right, Djaq, we have to re-trace our steps, where did we go from here? We're looking for where you revealled yourself and we founght them." Gary said.

[Djaq]

Djaq jogged to the middle of the clearing and looked around. "I think it was that way..." she said, and she jogged in the direction she was previously pointing. As the two men stayed standing where they were, Djaq called out from where she was amongst the trees. "Yep...its definately here. There's the place you pushed me...and there are still a bunch of dead bodies." she said wrinkling her nose and then holding it. "Its not a pretty sight...plus it stinks!"
