Making Decorations

[Will Scarlett]

"I don't really know anything about this either... I'll just take orders aswell... you take charge Gary!" said Will smiling at him. "So what shall we do then?"

[Djaq]

"What a man you're turning out to be." said Djaq sarcastically. "Woodcraftsman indeed!" she said tutting, and then giggled.

[Will Scarlett]

He laughed, "Oi! Yeah woodscraftsman, well a locksmith actually, not a tree-putter-upper!" he smiled back at her.

[Gary Taylor]

Gary smiled. "Ok, well, lets all go find some long sharp pieces of wood that we can use as stakes. When you've found one, tie it to your rope. With a strong knot, I'm sure you'll know one." he added. They all went into the forest to do their task.

((Hope you don't mind me speed it up a bit.))

After a couple of minutes Gary walked back into the clearing with a good stake. Will and Djaq were aleady there, tieing theirs, so Gary did the same.

((no that's fine by me! do you wanna speed it up loads? And just say that after much effort the tree went up and they stood back admiring their work?))

[Gary Taylor]

After much effort the tree was up and the three stood back admiring their work.

"Not bad," said Gary, "Great actually!" It was impressive.

[Will Scarlett]

"Yeah..." said Will looking up at the tree in front of them "...yeah, it is good..." he smiled at Djaq and Gary but then suddenly the smile was wiped from his mouth. "Oh... we forgot to put the star on top... we'll never be able to get it up there now..." he trailed off looked annoyed "unless... unless one of.... no... I dunno..." he said thinking out loud. "There is one way I can think that we could get it up there... it would be dangerous... and if it went wrong, we'd have to start all this again..."

[Djaq]

Djaq bit her lip, just listening to the two boys conversing.

"If I climbed the tree... carefully trying not to wobble it too much, I could put the star on the top, and any other decorations that re going high up... I dunno... I may not be able to put up trees very well, but I spent my childhood climbing them... what to you think?" he looked at Gary and then at Djaq.

((lol - and btw, Jane's very sorry she isn't replying, her internets died))

"As a little boy I used to climb trees a lot too," he smiled. "So I don't mind doing it?"

[Will Scarlett]

"Nah don't worry, I'll do it" said Will casually before looking around "Now where's that star gone?"

[Gary Taylor]

Gary nodded then passed the star to Will, which was nearby on the ground. "Careful Will," he said and patted his shoulder.

((so...short))

"Thanks mate" he said before taking the star and started to climb, slowly and carefully, so as not to wobble it, but easily up the tree. He was now about half way and it was starting to wobble and sway with every movement, and also, the further up he got, the less and less strong the branches became... he looked down at the two worried faces below him and gave them a reassuring smile before turning back and continueing on his ascent.

[Djaq]

Djaq looked up at Will worriedly. She grabbed Gary's arm and continued to stare up at Will who was slowly making his way up the tree. "Be careful my love..." she said quietly.

[Will Scarlett]

Eventually Will reached the top of the swaying fir tree and attached the star to the top of it, holding onto the flimsey branches with one hand, and fiddleing around with the star with the other. Now, all he had to do was try and make his way back down the tree without knocking it over, snapping any of the branches, or falling of himself. He slowly and cautiously started to make his decent. He climbed down one branch... then another... and another, until he was back at the middle of the tree half way up, and half way down. He had done it, he breathed a sigh of relief and continued downwards. From here, his decent was easy, the branches were thicker, and the tree was more sturdy. He clambered down the last few branches of the tree and jumped onto the ground below standing back admiring the new decoration on the top of the tree.
