Find the Sheriff! ((Part Two))

[Marian]

Marian and Gisborne stood in the Main Hall, deliberating on what to do. Jasper had said the armies were already on their way to raze Nottingham to the ground - they'd be here by sunset. Having searched the castle, and with all the guards out looking for The Sheriff, they had to work out how to find him.

"Gisborne...what are we going to do?" She paused, "We have to find the Sheriff - and quickly. Jasper isn't joking around, is he...he really will destroy Nottingham." She sighed softly, thinking that Robin was the only one who knew the forest better than anyone else...he would be able to find the Sheriff...

[Sir Guy]

"I dont know Marian, i dont have a clue." He felt nervous and marian could see that in his eyes. He wasnt powerful anymore and now he was just a lost puppy.

[Marian]

"Look, i know you won't like this idea...but what about..." She paused for breath. "What about Hood? I know you usually think he's the problem, but maybe - maybe this time he could be the solution. He knows that forest better than anyone, he could find the Sheriff if he was there and save Nottingham." She knew he wouldn't like this plan.

"This could be our only hope. I'm sure, if I got a message to him, he would come and listen. I mean..." She realised the last time Gisborne had seen her with Robin, he was holding her hostage. Would he believe she could persuade him to come here - when she was supposedly afraid of him?

[Sir Guy]

He looked up at her as he sat in his huge wooden chair. "He would listen to you?" After he had taken Marian hostage in the tree, he didnt think it was a good idea but she was right. He knew the forest better than anyone so he could help. He smiled slightly up at Marian. "You could persuade him to come here?"

[Marian]

"Possibly..." He paused, "I mean probably. If I could get a messenger to him, he might come here. You could talk to him: he won't want Nottingham razed to the ground, same as you and me. If he finds the Sheriff, we don't have to worry. But time's running out - we've only got until sunset, and we need someone who knows the forest.

[Sir Guy]

He sighs, he definately didnt want hood coming here but he had no other choice. He was quite nervous he might try to steal money or hostage Marian again. He slowly nodded his head. "Fine, but he stays in this room and this room only."

[Marian]

"Okay." She put her hand on his arm gently - just for a moment. "Thank-you, Guy. I couldn't bare to see Nottingham destroyed. The people...the homes...just because the Sheriff decides today he's going to wander off." She sighed.

"I'll get a messenger sent to him. I'm sure he'll come - it's for the good of Nottingham, and you know that's what Hood supposedly stands for." She tried to sound a little bit more like she hated Robin for kidnapping him - so Gisborne would continue to believe the story.

[Sir Guy]

He felt her hand on his arm, it felt warm and comforting but he had to hide the feelings for her which were pouring out of his face like a flowing river. He smiled slightly, feeling that Marian must hate Robin as much as he did. "Very well, it will be a quick meeting and he will leave his friends and bow outside of the castle grounds."

He smirked, he did not wish for Hood to enter the castle grounds with his bow otherwise Marian and himself would be at risk. He clicked his fingers and a maid came with a glass of wine for himself.

[Marian]

"Very well." She replied, as she left the room in order to find someoe to get a message to Robin. She decided upon Allan: He knew where the camp was, and as long as she managed to do something so the others would trust him, she believed he would not betray her. ((We really need an Allan!))

After telling him of the message to give Robin, she slipped her engagement ring from her pocket. "Show him this: it will prove you are telling the truth." She told him.

About an hour later, Marian and Gisborne were sat in the same room - waiting for Robin to arrive.

[Sir Guy]

He did not look strong and powerful, he looked small and worried and Marian could see that. He looked around nervously, waiting for his enemy to come.

[Robin Hood]

Robin entered, and ran down the steps with a soft, loving smile, unseen by Guy, towards Marian. However, he had to remember why he was here. "So. Gisborne. Asking the enemy for help?" He asked, with a smirk. It felt pretty good - for him to have to ask Robin for his help.

"The Sheriff's decided to go walk-abouts, has he? You've checked the castle, I presume?"

[Sir Guy]

He snarled. "OF COURSE I HAVE!" He couldnt help just hating the smile on Hoods face. He looked up at Marian for some help.

[Robin Hood]

"Well then. Did anyone see him leave? When was the last time he was seen?" He questioned Guy, sinking into the chair at the very opposite of the table from Marian and Guy. He couldn't help but hate Guy: not just for everything he stood for, but also because he got Marian. Okay, Marian was engaged to him, and didn't like Guy like that - but he still got her living with him, he stood there, at his side - not at Robin's. And that hurt.

"Well then. Go on." He paused, "Ask me for my help."

[Sir Guy]

He smirked. "A little girl saw him leave on HIS horse in his night clothes." He heard Robin make me ask him for help, he couldnt do that, he just couldnt. Be a traitor and ask him for help, he didnt think so. He began to stand up, wanting to leave the room.

[Marian]

She hated it to; she wanted more than anything to be on that side of the table, holding Robin's hand and telling him to do the right thing. But here she was - on Guy's side, but still fighting for the right thing. She couldn't help but feel Robin was making this more difficult than it needed to be: but that was men, wasn't it. However, Guy was actually doing the right thing here - going against what the Sheriff would probably want for Nottingham, and she had to respect him for that.

"Robin. This is for Nottingham, and all the people in it. Please can you he-" But she was cut off by Robin. He began to speak to them both, and it was clear it wasn't her he wanted to ask him.
