"Ive been up all last night and the night before planning it. Ive known since last week which is why i saved up for that pendant for you." He smiled and make her twirl. It was nice dancing with her without the sheriff ordering me around.

"Well, it looks great in here. And thank-you, again, for the pendant. It's beautiful." As she twirled, she was pulled back to him and her hand ended up placed on his shoulder, as they danced around the room, through other couples.

"im good at lying Marian, even to the sheriff sometimes," he winked at her, smiling as he made his way around the main hall with her. He thought it must be a dream to dance with such a fantastic dancer.
"have you had lessons since we last danced, yo seemed to hve improved?" Guy brushed back his long dark hair and continued to dance, looking into her eyes.

She smiled softly, remembering how he'd gone against King John's mean, and returned, risking his life, only a few days ago. "Well, you did well. I hadn't a clue you knew, or that you were planning this."
She shook her head, "No..." She smiled, "But thank you."

"Well, it's lovely." She didn't know what else to say, so they just continued to dance on in silence, as she also watched the others dancing.
"Shall we go and get a drink?" She asked, as the song finished and she applauded the band with the others. As a Lord from a neighbouring village came to wish her happy birthday, she thanked him graciously - but he seemed interested in more than just wishing her happy birthday. As she declined to dance with him, he continued to ask her continually, and she was starting to get a bit annoyed...

Guy pushed him backwards. "Back off," he gave the man an evil look and put his hand in the way so Marian could walk to the drink table without being touched up. (lol)

She walked away, towards the drinks table, thankfully left alone by any other men. "Thank-you, Sir Guy..." She commented, as he caught up with her at the drinks table.
The two stood quietly, watching other couples dancing, for a moment. There were a mixture of nobility and less well off people attending, but no peasants. it really was a thoughtful thing to do, and even if Marian despised Guy sometimes, it was times like this when she saw his good side.

he watched her, thinking of something nice to say but kep his mouth closed. Guy brushed back his dark hair and looked around. He was glad there was no peasants there to ruin Marians birthday party.

Silence. It was awkward, and something that often seemed to surround Guy and Marian when they were alone together. She couldn't think of anything to say that wouldn't cause problems or arguments - she didn't want those tonight.
"Thank-you, you're very kind..." She said, as another person wished her happy birthday. "So, the Sheriff didn't mind you throwing this party then? I know I'm not exactly his favourite person..." She broke the silence, with a not too controversial question.

He rubbed the back of his neck. "the thing is...He doesnt know your having this party, i only told him it was another party to celebrate our victory. Not victory but Nottingham not being destroyed. The sheriff is in his room having a bath while being sung to by a servant," he smiled at Marian.

She nodded; "Well, it doesn't surprise me." She grinned - he'd defied the Sheriff, again, for her! Perhaps Gisborne really was a changed man, and this new side she was seeing to him? Maybe it would become more apparent.
She laughed, "Poor servant..." She said quietly, but probably so Guy could still hear...

He laughes slightly at her joke. "i paid him more and he did needed persuading," he smiled and watched a man carefully who kept looking over to Marian, staring at her clevage. HE wanted to punch him but he controlled himself. After all, Marian wouldnt want him to start a fight.

She smiled, glad Guy had joined in with her joke, rather than telling her she shouldn't speak like that. He was the Sheriff of Nottingahm, but there was clearly no love lost between her and him.
She didn't notice the man staring at her, that Guy was watching - she wasn't paying alot of attention to the other side of the room. She placed a hand softly on Guy's arm: "I appreciate it, you know, It's nice of you, to do all of this...for me. You're a good friend." She knew he wanted more than friendship, but friendship was all she was prepared to give...

He looked at her when she placed her hand on his shoulder, he wanted more than friendship and it was showing a lot but he kept control, trying not to kiss her. "Its my pleasure Marian." It was all he could say. "would you like another dance?"
