Finally it was over. But she wasnt going to stay in Nottingham for long. She had to flee. Going back to Cheshire was a big risk as the Prince would come looking for her there as soon as he learned that she was gone. She pulled out her travel back and packed a few old clothes. She saw some money that she had saved for the Outlaws on her celtic dresser. She thought of Allan and the rest of the Outlaws. Maybe she could live with them until the Prince had given up? She shook the thought away from her mind. "Now is not the time Rosetta." she scouled herself.
Night was drawing in. She heard voices and they didnt sound friendly. She drew her sword silently. "Not this time." she whispered. A knock came at her door. "Lady Rosetta its the Prince's Gaurd. Open up." the voice said. She wouldnt cooperate. She went to her window and opened it hiding her sword. "Err hello I'm kind of busy right now please come back in the morning." she smiled. The gaurds were in no position to argue as they knew how swift Lady Rosetta was with a sword. They backed off into the darkness. Rosetta sa down next to the crackling fire. Over it sat her cauldron. It had a Pentagram engraved on the front and back. She was cooking up a potion and it would not be ready until tomorrow. Another knock came at her door. "Go away!" she shouted.

Allan had been on his way to Rosetta's cottage when he spotted the guards milling around outside the front door. He swore under his breath and ducked behind a nearby tree, watching carefully.
They were a fairly easily intimidated bunch though; obviously not in too much of a hurry. When she told them to come back tomorrow, they actually started leaving. Allan laughed and shook his head. Pretty ineffectual.
He waited for the last of them to disappear into the darkness and sprinted the hundred or so yards to Rosetta's house, pounding on the door. When she shouted at him to leave, he replied through the heavy wood:
"I know you saw off John's men easy enough this time, but I reckon you'll want a hand if you're gonna keep 'em at bay much longer."

Rosetta flung the door open and threw her arms around Alan. "Please come in." she said letting him go. "God Im so happy to see you." she ran over to her desk and slammed her spell book closed along with her book of shadows.

The door swung open to reveal Rosetta. He laughed as he stepped over the threshold of her cottage. "Yeah, I bet. You should have heard some of the names John had for you in the church. I almost expected a bolt of lightning or something, swearing like that in the house of God."
He looked around the room. "So, you packed and ready then? We should be out of here before dawn if you want to get a decent headstart on the Prince's men. I've got a feeling they won't be taking no for an answer a second time."

"Well I wanna know what he said." she smiled. She threw a bag of gold to Allan. "I'll keep sending." she promised. Rosetta took her sword and sheathed it again. "Right. Just need to pack my trunk with my Witchcraft tools." she said. "Anyway it would've been wrong for a Witch not to get married the Wiccan way." she informed. She looked at Allan. Her eyes mealted at the sight. "How can I become one of you?" she wondered.

Allan caught the bag easily and gave an appreciative grin when he looked inside. "Nice," he said, weighing it speculatively in his hand before tucking it away into the larger pouch he carried on his belt.
"You'll have to forgive me if I don't remember Prince John's exact words. If you remember I had enough on my plate. Seriously, did you choose that dress? Because it was an absolute bugger to do anything in, let me tell you."
He shifted awkwardly when she started talking about witchy stuff again. "Remember," he warned, "I know you only do...good things, an' that, but be careful about who hears you talking about it. You don't want to end up being dragged out to be burnt at the stake, do you? Most people are pretty scared of witches. Think you're gonna start makin' em do things they don't want to do. And they don't tend to listen when you say you don't use your powers for evil. They're too busy lighting the torches to care."

"I know. But you understand me." said Rosetta. She wrapped her arms around Allan. "Thanks again." she smiled. Out of gratitude she headed over to a small cabinet and pulled out another pouch of gold. "Here." she said a threw it at him. "And the dress. As if I chose it." she sighed.

Allan put his head on one side. "I'm not sure I'll ever completely understand you, but I got a close idea. And you're right; you can trust me: I ain't exactly your mortal enemy...more your evil double."
She grabbed another hefty sum from a small cupboard and his eyes widened. Surely this was Allan money, not gang money. After all, he'd stuck his neck out the furthest- definitely earned a little sweetener for himself. He made sure to keep the bag separate from the larger one destined for Robin. Old habits, and all that.
He grinned when she expressed her disgust for the frothy white creation. "So it was all John's doing, was it? I'd credited him with fairly good taste up till now, but clearly I was at least a bit wrong there."
He shuffled his feet anxiously and looked at the still-active hearth. "So, you're ready to get going, yeah? Got your horse ready? We should be saddling up about now."

"Im sorry I shouldnt have done that." she said. She headed out a back door which was a stable a saddle up Dyfore her black stallion.

When she kissed him, he was surprised but not exactly put out.
"Oh, I dunno, I'm not about to complain about a kiss from the woman who turned down a prince," he replied, grinning. Rosetta hadn't made any secret of her feelings for him, but hadn't been as forthcoming in her actions before.
He followed her out of the back door and whistled. "Nice horse," he said. "Don't suppose you've got a spare, or are we going pillion?"

"Theres a white mare in the next stall. Robert tack her up." she said ordering her stable boy. The bot immeaditly get the mare's tack and did as he was told. "Go on now sweetheart you're free." she smiled. The boy didnt move. "Go. Im not coming back." she smiled sweetly. The boy ran up to her and hugged her. Rosetta smiled and hugged him back. "The mares name is Arwen." she sighed after the boy left. "Come we better move." she said mounting Dyfore. Her weapons on her she waited outside for Allan.

Allan watched as the lad set about saddling and bridling the mare. He was a skinny little thing, like most people of Nottingham; not that much food to go round, although Allan was sure Rosetta had taken care of him well.
"Arwen," he repeated, and walked over to the horse. She was beautiful. White horses were a rarity and he'd never ridden one before; despite the fact that he'd stand out like a sore thumb on her back he couldn't help but feel a little smug. He rubbed her nose a bit, letting her get used to his smell first, and then led her out of the stable door into the yard.
He shoved his left foot into her stirrup and swung the right over her back, fidgeting as he tried to find the most comfortable position in the saddle.
"Why is it you get a boy horse and I get a girl horse, then?" he asked teasingly. Nudging his heels gently into the mare's sides, he urged her forwards into a slow walk.
