Roleplayer Information
What name, OOC, do you like to be known as?: Kat
Age: 17
Existing characters: None on this site
Character Information:
First Name: Eveline
Middle Name: Mary
Last Name: Gosford
Status:: Marquise
Place of Birth: Stapleford
Current Age: 21
Date of Birth: 13th April
Parents: Sir Robert of Stapleford and Lady Arabella di Borromeo, both deceased
Siblings: None surviving
Current place of residency: Travelling
Support and why: Eveline is undecided. She knew both the king and the prince as teenagers and likes them both. She thinks of Richard as an older brother, but gets on better with John. (I am happy to change this if you want me to)
Personality: Eveline is very politically astute, then again a lady in her position has to be. She can be cunning and ruthless, but also has moments of kindness and selfless generosity. She is clever and witty, but knows little of the heart; her mother having died when she was fairly young and her father having only ever seen her as a bargaining chip. Eva is also very self-reliant and bold, but insecure.
Life Story: Eveline was born nearly a month late and the midwives feared for her mother's life. When she was born, she had two elder brothers. However, by the time her younger brother was born eighteen months later, both the older boys had died of scarlet fever. Eveline escaped the infection because she was being cared for by a wet nurse in the village.
At the age of 6, she was betrothed to Roger of Gisborne's son, Guy, but he had disappeared back to France before she was of a marriagable age (again, I'm happy to change this if you want). Barely a week before her twelth birthday, Eva's younger brother also died, but of typhoid. Eveline also contracted the disease, but managed to overcome it. Sir Robert took it badly. He was now deprived of all his sons and also his wife, so there was no chance of rearing more. All he had left was a useless, as he saw it, daughter. So he tried to sell her off, but no-one would enter negotiations because they thought the family was cursed. This superstition meant that Sir Robert had no chance of remarrying, either.
This was when they went to King Henry's court. At thirteen, Eveline was still not quite a woman, so the princes treated her more as a sister than as a lady of the court. During the following year, however, she filled out into a good-looking young woman and the king noticed her and the amount of time she was spending with John. So, he sent her father to Ireland, but allowed Eveline to stay as one of his queen's waiting women. This was how she spent her time until King Henry's death.
After Richard's coronation, she went to take stock of Kent, of which she had become marquise upon her uncle's death. She returned to court in 1194, when John was in charge. Eva has been here ever since, but now she is on her way to her holdings at Stapleford.
Anything else?: Stapleford is fairly close to Nottingham and, as she was betrothed to Guy, it's likely that she also knew Robin as a boy.

Sample Role-Play:
“These people are fools,” she sighed as she watched John passing among the guests. “He doesn't want them to be honoured, he wants, no... he needs to be admired. I thought Marie was intelligent!” she exclaimed under her breath as the prince returned to the cavalcade from inspecting the wedding party.
"A good day to get married, my lord?" she asked with an overly innocent smile.
