Honeysuckle drifted absentmindedly through the streets of Nottingham, paying little heed to the warnings of rogue outlaws she had recieved from the castle guards. It was not in her nature to listen when people prattled on endlessly about safety and security. All she wished for was freedom.
Walking on, she found herself so wrapped up in the activities and conversations of those around her, she did not see the market stall in front of her, well, not until she had collided with it that is.

Carter leaned casually against the post of one of the market stalls. His eyes darted to and fro, as he spied the various passer bys. Peasants about their business. Buying this and selling that. He ruffled his blonde hair slightly and then crossed his arms. He didn't even know what he was doing there. He was on his way to Nottingham on the way to the Inn, but changed his mind when he realised he had been visiting Trip Inn on far too numerous occasions. So instead, he simply stood around, letting the day sluggishly pass him by.
Then something caught his attention, as a sharp jerk erupted from the market stall next to the one he was leaning against. His head spun around, and he spotted a young girl. She, rather clumsily, had walked into the market stall. Carter laughed to himself and then tipped his head to one side. "You alright there?" he asked the girl, his blue eyes gazing at hers. She didn't look like a peasant, but what was a Noble doing wandering around Nottingham Market?

"Oh my.." Her hand flew to her mouth as she saw the damage she had caused to the stallholder's stock, her cheeks flushing a delicate shade of pink in embarrassment. She had not been in the town three days and already she was causing trouble.
Hearing a voice ahead of her, she lifted her eyes, finding herself staring into the blue eyes of a rather attractive man. "I am fine sir, thank you for your concern."

Carter raised his eyebrows at inspected the girl a little closer. She was young, but he could deal with that. She was a pretty girl too, there was no doubt about it. And by the way she was dressed, almost definately rich. Carter flashed her a smile, and then slowly walked over so that he was standing next to her.
"If you don't mind me asking," he started, looking the girl up and down, "are you a Noblewoman?" He asked the question and then curled his lip into a smile, his loose fitting shirt ruffling slightly as a gust of wind flew through the streets.

"I have title yes... but there is little noble about me, I can assure you."
She grinned charmingly, her blonde hair catching in the breeze and tangling around her face. Looking down for a brief second, Honeysuckle hitched the hem of her navy blue gown up, out of the dirt.
"And yourself Sir? Noble or otherwise?"

Carter raised an eyebrow at the woman's first remark. He liked the sound of that. He looked down at the girl, his blue eyes twinkling. He was quite a bit taller than her, but that was hardly a problem.
At the girl's second remark, Carter let out a small low laugh. "Me? Noble? Hardly." he said, folding his arms. He didn't really want to reveal anything more. For all he knew, this girl could be sided with the Sheriff, or even Prince John. If he revealed anything of his true identity, it could be the end of him. And indeed the end of Robin Hood.
He concentrated his attention back onto the girl. "So, are you a guest in Nottingham? A guest of the Sheriff perhaps?" he asked, trying to slowly nudge the conversation towards where this girl's allegiances lay.

A delicate laugh escaped her as she looked up at the man. Should she tell him of her residency in the castle? Or was it worth lying? He didn't seem the type to judge a person, maybe the truth would be for the best, after all, no one likes a liar.
"I am staying at the castle under my father's orders. He wants me somewhere I have to behave myself."

Hmm. So there was a father. And orders. But none of what the girl said really told Carter what she was about. But she seemed like the kind of lady that would break the mould. That's what Carter liked to hear.
They were standing next to a market stall selling apples, and the stall keeper was giving the two of them meaningful glances, obviously hoping for a sale. Carter gave him a quick smirk, and then tossed him a gold coin, gracefully picking up the juiciest and reddest apple on the stall. He spun in around elegently, and then held it out towards the woman. "And what might your name be, my lady?"

A soft smile flickered across Honey's lips as her fingers curled delicately around the apple.
"Honeysuckle." She murmured softly, taking a small, grazing bite of the apple. "And what would your name be Sir..?"

Carter folded his arms, as he watched her eat the apple with a smirk. "Honeysuckle..." he echoed, "A beautiful name, to match you're beautiful face." She really was one beautiful woman. If only there were more of them around.
He pondered quietly at what answer he should give her. Perhaps revealing his name as Carter would be too risky. You never knew what traitor names the Sheriff would remember. But on the other hand, Carter had never revealed to the Sheriff, or pretty much anyone else, his true first name. It wasn't really somthing he liked people using, but in this case it would probably be best.
"James." he replied to her, in a low voice. He had quite a large height advantage over her, and he shifted his body slightly so that the shadow of his body did not block her beautiful features. He leaned lightly against the stall once more, and gave her a charming smile.

Honey felt a faint blush creeping up her cheeks, a half shy smile flittering across her lips.
"James. Truely the name of a warrior." Her words were light and soft, almost like a summer's breeze. "I believe it means God will protect. Or am I wrong?"
Her eyes, green and shining with mischief, roamed up and down his body, taking in the contors of his muscles, admiring every visible inch of his being...

Carter grinned as Honeysuckle blushed. It really depended on the girl about whether a comment like that would go down well. Most girls found a man calling them beautiful extremely flattering. But others found it patronising. Carter didn't understand some girls. They could spit in a guy's face, and he would still go crawling after her like some kind of possessive snail. Carter was different. If a girl gave him signs she didn't give a hell about him, he would take that in mind and leave.
But this didn't seem the case for Honeysuckle. Excellent.
"God will protect?" Carter repeated with his eyebrows raised. "I had no idea my name had such prosperity. Seemed pretty boring to me." He gave a small laugh and then his blue eyes rested on her green ones. He pondered what he should do next.

"I am certain you are far from boring James."
Honey took a small step forward, closer to him, her eyes glinting with mischeif and trouble.
"So. What is there to do for amusement in this town?"
