"Set up?" Much hissed back, frowning. He turned around, so that his expression remained hidden to the mysterious girl. "Do you think she did it? Is this some kind of trap?" he asked urgently, his eyes growing wide with suspicion. This "girl" did seem to come from no-where. But she was upsett, and Much didn't just want to turn around and acuse her before he knew more. But then again, a set up fire was evidence enough.
He turned back around, his expression not so sympathetic, as he struggled to think of what he should do. Devon had asked for food. But that meant having to expose the camp. "Bread?" Much asked, in an unconvincing voice. "Erm..." he said, turning to the other outlaws for help. "Well, there's plenty of food around the forest. Nature itself is like a banquet of food." Much said. He couldn't help but grin.

As another man approached the group, Devon could help but think Christ, another one. Her brows creased as the men conversed in low hisses. Her eyes flickered between the two and when one turned to face her again, his face had changed. Devon moaned. So much for that plan. "I suppose you're right. I'll just try and find something to eat. Thanks anyways." She sighed and turned her back on the men. She was a half-step away when she drew her dagger and held it at the man who had tried to help her. "Sorry, mate," she spat sarcastically. "Listen, I know there's a camp in the hill. I want in. You," she pointed to the big man, "are going to open it, let me have a little look and take a few things, or I will kill your friend." With the small blade against his throat, she removed his sword. "Well?!" She demanded of the men. "Don't you try anything." She warned the other, her eyes hard as rock. She stared them all down, as if daring them to try something.

Well, that had gone downhill fast, Allan reflected wryly. He slowly put his arms out to the side. He didn't want her to make any fast moves.
"Look love, do you really wanna be doing this? You off him, you've got two angry blokes on your case who've just lost a mate. Fancy your chances with this one?" He gestured at John.

Little John sighed as she grabbed hold of Much. This really was not going very well, was it? And maybe they should make their camp a little harder to find. That might help them stop getting into any tricky situations in the future. He glanced at Allan, then led his staff down on the floor, holding out his hands.
"Look here, who ever you are. We don't tolerate petty theives. So, I'm going to give you a chance. Either let go of Much and run away. Or keep hold of him and I'll have to get angry. And trust me, I am no nice when I am angry, as this guy so rightly put," Little John replied, nodding towards Allan.

As the girl turned to walk away, Much shrugged and was about to turn around to face John again, until suddenly he found himself with a dagger pointed aggressivly at his neck. "Wha-" he started, and then gulped, his hands abruptly lifting into the air in surrender. What had he done to disserve this? Of all things, he had only been kind to this stranger. He frowned and gave the mysteries girl the most intimidating of dagger eyes that he could muster. His stare soon dissolved into a petrified mush as she started to threaten him. He desperately tried to keep his composure, but he started to tremble uncontrolable, and his eyes darted around for some means of escape.
Of course there were none. The outlaws were pleading their case, but it didn't seem to be working too well. Much swallowed, and felt his forehead become damp with sweat. So this was how he was going to die. Being sliced to pieces by a good-for-nothing thief, and a female at that.

Devon faced the first man and glared at him. "Yes, as a matter of fact, I do want to do this. Well, actually, I'd much rather be stealing from people with much more than you lot, but you can't win them all." She said with a shrug, but faced the large man. "You think that just because you threatened me, I'll run off? Sorry, not that type of person. And if any of you lot are underestimating me because I am a girl, you have another thing coming." She increased the pressure of the dagger a bit to prove her point. "Listen, alright. I want to be here about as much as you do, so I'll cut you a deal. I'll run off, just not yet. So can keep your camp shut and hidden. The condition is you take off all your weapons and valuable and put them in the bag. Then I'll scurry off and you won't hear from me again." She looked at the group and scoffed. "Listen, that's the best you'll get from me, so don't waste your time bargaining." She took off the bag and threw it to the ground at her feet. "And ain't it a bit of a double standard to say you don't tolerate petty thieves? What do you do with the lot you steal? Because, trust me, that good feeling you get after helping someone doesn't pay for food or clothes or a fancy camp."

"No, you're right, it don't," replied Allan sarcastically. "But we can always steal more. We give what we can to those who can't just nick what they need. There's a lot that can't keep their heads above water without us. And we get plenty of rich nobles to rob, believe you me. If you're looking for better marks than us, you're better off listening than threatening."

Devon was fed up the this man. "You think I'm going to listen to you? An outlaw?" Letting her anger get the better of her she whipped around to face the man. "You smug little... I've heard just about enough from you, alright? You can pretend to act all high and mighty, but you think you're better than me?!" She brandished the sword and lunged at him. He reminded her too much of her brother. They both had that stupid smug grin on their faces, they thought they were better than everyone else. What she wouldn't have given to have her brother in this man position, so she could finally let him know how she really felt. She took out her rage on the unknown man, forgetting about the others, which probably wasn't a great decision. But she couldn't care about them; all she saw was her brother reflected in this man. She ran at him, sword ready.

Little John sighed heavily as she turned on Allan. He always did have a habi of mouthing off in bad situations. He watched her drew her sword and run at Allan. He quickly picked up the staff and knocked her sword out of her hand, before grabbing her by the back of her clothes, holding her above the ground.
"Now you are really annoying me. Attacking two of my friends in a short space of time? Now that is just not going to happen!" Little John replied, shaking his head and keeping his hold on her. "Much, Allan. Get some rope."

Much breathed a huge sigh of relief as the girl turned her dagger away from his throat. He shook himself off, and then was ready for action. As soon as John knocked the dagger from the girls hand, he slid over to the blade, and swung it into his belt with one swooping gesture.
At John's request for rope, he pulled off the length that was tied around his waist. He liked to use rope as well as a belt, plus rope often came in handy sooner or later. He quickly threw one end of the rope over to Allan, and then spun around the girl, so that her arms were pressed together with the rope.

Allan helped Much tie off the girl's wrists, then used the other end of the rope to secure her feet. It wasn't the most comfortable position in the world for her, but he wasn't really feeling particularly charitable to the little hellcat at the moment, and he didn't want her running off.

Devon seethed as the men tied her up. Honestly! She faced the one who reminded her of her brother and glared. "You know, for a group of people who are supposed to help other, you sure aren't being very helpful." She faced the other who had tried to help her. "Am I so undeserving of your help? What makes what I do any different than what you do, other than the fact that you're not tied up at the moment?" She sighed and dropped her gaze, pulling the last trick out of her bag. "I wasn't lying when I said I that those were half my things. And I wasn't lying when I said I was looking for my father." Well, she was, but they didn't need to know that. "He left when I was born. Apparently I'd offended him by being a girl. My mum told he he died. But just last week, I'd heard whispers about him. So I've come to Nottingham to find him." Lie. "I just want to find him. I've spent my whole life thinking he was dead. That I was the reason. I-I only stole because I'm desperate. I didn't mean to, I was just looking for help. I didn't think anyone would help me, so I thought maybe if something had happened to my things..." More lies. "Please. I didn't mean to do you any harm. I'm not thinking straight. I've been traveling from York and I'm weak with hunger. I'm so so sorry. Please forgive me." Her speech had been mad to the ground as she worked up the tears and when she begged for forgiveness, she cheeks were wet with the salty water and her eyes were big and pleading. It was a quieter cry than before, more of a helpless cry. It happened to be one of her favourites.

"Oh dear me, yes;" replied Allan sarcastically. "Why on earth are we treating you so badly? It surely can't be anything to do with the fact that you threatened to kill poor Much here. I was listening to you, and I was ready to help, but you decided it was your way or nothing. I don't think any of us fancy doing it your way, so I reckon it's gonna be nothing. You blew it, love." She carried on, listing a seemingly unending litany of misfortunes, all probably bollocks.
"Look, every one of us here could drag up a family story that would make a statue's eyes well up. But you'll learn, sooner or later, not to bite the hand that you want feeding from."

Devon blew the hair out of her eyes and regarded the bonds at her wrists and ankles with frustration. The smart mouthed one was talking, but she couldn't care to listen to him anymore. She looked at him and glared. "Don't you have something better to do than watch me sit here, bound like a stupid pig?" she shot at him. How on earth did she get in this position? Jon would be embarrassed by her horrendous act. She plopped herself onto the ground and thought. Trying to get their pity was out of the question. And taking control of the situation was out too, given her position. She looked up at the blond and sighed. He'd see through all of her lies anyways. She took account of her bonds mentally. Her arms were bound to her waist rather tightly, then her wrists were bound together and that was attached to her ankles which were confined in a similar way. "Well, luck ain't on your side today, is it lil' sis?" her brother's voice rang in her mind. "Shut up," she said aloud in response. She sighed again and fell back, lying on the grass. "What exactly are you planning on doing with me? I mean, yeah I'm tied up, but I'll hardly fetch a price in the market and the Sheriff surely doesn't care about me" Unless they knew the Sheriff of York, in which case Devon was in a lot of trouble. She pushed the thought aside and very nonchalantly prodded the group. "Well?" she asked, looking up at the man with the tan coloured hat.

Allan looked at Much too. She had a fair point. The girl had pissed him off but he wasn't enough of a bastard to hand her over to the authorities. On the other hand, she obviously wasn't to be trusted. There was no way they'd be able to talk her over to their side; she'd already decided she wasn't interested in anything they had to tell her.
