"I'm not staying here with him, I'd rather go home."
Anna looked over her shoulder at them, her scowl deepening. She wasn't a child, she could take care of herself perfectly well.

For the first time Roe's eyes and face developed into a deep scowl. He was a loner and a singular operator, in that way very similar to Carter. He was definitely used to taking what he wanted when he wanted, and not being dealt with as part of a child's tantrum. "As I understood it you were given a 3rd choice. I am sure, if it is your desire, that I could go leave leave you on the Forest Road on the way to Nottingham in a place where they I sure to look, and finish the job that they started."
"I'll just bet that your cousin Will's heart will just be warmed that after you were told that he was nearby, along with his wife and newborn child you elected to go home. I thought that what I was doing for you might be construed as a favor. However, since we are such a burden, and you are now recovered from your wounds, I can see why you would want to head back to Scarborough. If that is your wish then we can depart as soon as you feel able. As for you two, I would recommend getting her to Djaq or the camp. I have also heard o a good infirmary in the Priory near Nottingham, or the two of you are free to stay as long as you desire, as long as its what you want to do, unlike some people," he said with a cool and level stare directed at Anna.

"I'll get myself home. I don't need any help. I'm not a child."
She practically screamed with frustration, pushing her way past the two men, letting the door slam behind her as she left the house.

Despite all that she had been through and that she was a Scarlett, Roe found her quite unstable, and in her present state, quite undependable. She was not very compassionate either, at least in reference to the injured girl on the floor he thought. "Well good luck the .... 2 out of 3 ain't bad .... its that last one about not being a child that you've got some work due on."
After a few moments his attention was pulled back to Carter, who seemed as though he might be a bit stunned with the rapid change of events. "In the meantime we will see what we can do for your friend here, give her a chance to rest, and then you can decide if you want to stay with her her, take her back in the Forest, or head for a safe haven in Nottingham or thereabouts .... so think well on it .... Carter."

As Carter watched the argument unfold, his face remained emotionless, the whole time, his eyes fixed coldly on Annabella. As she stormed out the room, Carter raised his eyebrows. "What's her problem?" he asked straightly as the door slammed behind her.
But there were more important matters on their case. There was an injured girl in the room, and they had to do all they could to help her. "There's an infirmiry?" Carter blinked. He had no idea of this. "Well maybe that's an idea. As long as their not sided with the Sheriff?" Carter had already contemplated taking Livia to camp to find Djaq, but had decided it was not a good idea. "And I don't think we should take her to camp. Besides Djaq doesn't even live there anymore. Who knows where she could be right now?"

Roe shrugged, "Who can explain women sometimes. At any rate, I have found that people protesting they are not children are often the most child-like, and often have an over-valued view of themselves. Once she gets over her mad she'll probably be back, but I expect we'll be long gone."
"Yes there is .... I've heard that it is run by a Sister Magdalene at the Priory. She does not take sides, other than with poor's I believe. So, an innocent like this should be welcomed until she is strong enough to move about on her own, and probably get away from Nottingham and the Sheriff I expect."
"I have not yet been introduced to Djaq, but I expect they are not located too far away. In any case, after we drop Livia off at the infirmary we can head off into Nottingham, and we can go somewhere for some drink before I introduce myself to the Sheriff. Since I am a Frankish knight, with no allegiance to Richard, I hope I will be accepted, if not completely trusted. I will do my best. However, this time make sure you have the money to pay for your ale, eh?"

Carter grinned, "Sounds like a plan" he said happily. He leapt up off where he was sitting and looked back down at Livia. "So, do I have to carry her there....again?" he asked cheekily. He honestly didn't mind, but carrying people from place to place could be quite tiring. Now he knew what a donkey felt like.
"Djaq? She's alright I guess. Can be a bit stubborn sometimes. But who doesn't?" he said, checking absentmindedly out of Roe's window. "She's a good person all in all. And very talented at what she does." It was not like Carter to be complimentitive. Unless it was about himself.
"Roe. You can't expect me to pay for a drink at an Inn!" Carter said with a grin. "So when shall we leave. Now?"

Carter was so much easier to be with when he took on a more sunny disposition, as was the case with anybody. Roe had always found that he tended to reflect the personality of the one he was with. If they were surly he would be, but if he was in a good mood, Roe would be too. In their case, Anna's departure had lightened things immeasurably, and Rioe grinned right back. "I'm always looking out for your well-being and comfort my friend. We'll take my Arabian, Sherfore. A knight will be expected to have one wen I arrive at the castle , I would expect. You can ride her with your lady friend, and I'll walk. You've already had a tough walk today .... I brook no arguments .... even from a Templar," he smiled.
"That's good to know .... an opinion of one stubborn person by another stubborn one, perhaps. And what exactly does she do? It almost sounds like you have some personal experience with her and her abilities, just from the way you talk. Yes .... I know its a lot to expect from you Carter .... but I thought that I should ask so /I'll know whether to plan for a speedy getaway," he laughed. "Well, I'd prefer to be off 5 minutes ago, but a lot depends on how the female feels and feels about the idea. But I would like to leave before Anna gets any thoughts about returning, eh?"

"Excellent!" Carter grinned, and then knelt down so he was level with Livia once more. She had fallen asleep, and Carter couldn't help but not want to wake her up. She looked so still and peaceful, it seemed like a crime. But it had to be done in order for her to have a full recovery. He shook her lightly and whispered into her ear. "Wake up."
He waited for her to ajust and then stood back up again. "I'm not stubborn!" said Carter stubbornly, before letting a small laugh escape his lips. "Djaq? Well she's a Saracen. So she knows all sorts of things about medicine and potions. Amazing really. he said distantly. "She even created a potion that made Robin Hood look dead, but he was still actually living. We even brought him before the sheriff, dead yet alive. Carter grinned, recalling the memory.

Roe thought that Carter would approve of the travel arrangements. However, before they could progress to the point where they would be ableto start out their journey, Livia was going to have to be treated for her wounds, and take in some water and some food. Before that could take place she would have to be woken up. "I thought that, as a knight, you would appreciate and approve of that mode of transportation, than acting the part of a beast of burden yourself." I don't think we should waste too much time, though. Arriving at sunset might cause the least attention and disturbance, and then we could go and drink well into the night!
Roe simply shook his head at Carter's comment about stubbornness and said, "Yeah, right!." As Livia began to wake up at the result Carter's efforts, he listened to his explanation about the person named Djaq. So, a Saracen, he thought to himself. This Djaq, who ordinarily he would be suspicious of, seemed to have a wide range of abilities. And since the gang of outlaws, and apparently Carter trusted her, he would have to the same. "This Djaq sounds like she must be impressive if she has you singing her praises. I can't wait to meet her. It 'll be interesting to see what she thinks of me, and I'm glad to hear she has assisted Robin so well. She sounds like someone who is due a lot of respect in her own right."

Carter nodded. It was not usually like his to be so complementitive, but he respected Djaq. Although, when all is said and done, she did have her bad points, but there was not really any point in divulging them to Roe at the crucial time.
Livia was now awake, and Carter turned back to face Roe and nodded. "Right then, let's not waste any more time." he said with a grin. "I'm afraid you'll have to show me the way to the Infirmary."

Roe thought that everything was pretty well laid out. As long as Carter's friend Livia was up to the trip, of course they should leave right away. This Djaq would indeed be an interesting person to get to know he thought. Although he thought it was an interesting development that a former Crusader like Robin would have a Saracen like Djaq in his gang.
"If you are sure she is quite up to it, lets go now. The two of you can ride on the horse, I'll just walk. I'll take you as far as the Infirmary before I reclaim my horse. The Informary is part of the Priory. From what I've heard, as long as we can get Sister Magdalene's attention, she'll take on any needy cases, without any consideration of who their enemies might be."
"I'll go on to the castle from there, to present myself to the Sheriff. I just hope that I'm convincing enough. If not, I'm afraid I won't be passing much information on to you about the goings on inside the castle, and most importantly, I won't be able to join you for some ale later tonight," he smiled grimly.
