[[Roe; Livia]] Injured Slave

[Carter]

Carter kicked Roe's door open, and barged into the house. He still held Livia in his arms, and he had walked all the way from Nottingham to Locksley carrying her. He was breathed in and out and searched the room for Roe. He hoped he would be alright with the fact Carter had just burst in uninvited to his home, and expected him to let a complete stranger stay there for a while. But Roe was Carter's only hope. "Roe!" Carter yelled urgently.

[Roe]

The front door suddenly sprang open, being ripped nearly off its hinges. Roe saw Anna spring backward in fright.. Hadn't the poor girl been through enough, Roe thought, as he quickly brought both swords out of their scabbards. "Who goes there risks their own life, and how do you know my name?," he asked. What else could possibly happen today?

[Livia]

Livia turned her head out of the man's sight, resting against Carter's chest.

She had no idea where she was, but all she cared about was getting to safety, away from the Sheriff and Gisborne.

[Carter]

For gods sake. As Carter heard Roe's angry voice he bellowed back, "I'm offended! You don't even recognise my voice!" he had heard a sword unsheath, and sighed in annoyance. He boldly marched towards the noise and burst through yet another door. "I need a really huge favour!" he began, whilst peering around the door, revealing himself to Roe...and apparently a girl he had never seen before.

Carter raised an eyebrow. "Sorry...am I interupting something," Carter said with a grin.

[Roe]

It was Carter, what a relief. Roe put his swords back. "Relax Anna, this is Carter, he's a friend, one that you can depend on," he said with a wry smile. "No Carter, you aren't interrupting anything, just scaring the living daylights. This is Anna, Will Scarlett's cousin. She's trying to escape some family who just finished beating her up for running away from home."

"We didn't know if you were them, trying to break in here. I was thinking of taking her with me to Nottingham under the guise of being a cousin or something similar. Thought that might be the safest path, don't you. I have to get to Nottingham to start my work for Robin and his friends, right?," he said with a wink. "Or do you have a better idea?"

[Carter]

Carter nodded, not fully taking in what Roe was saying "Yeah, fine, whatever" he said hurredly.

Roe didn't seem to have noticed that Carter had an injured woman in his arms. But then again it was all a days work for James Robert Carter. Carter looked down at Livia, she seemed much calmer than she did before, which was good. He looked back up at Roe, expectantly. "Erm, Roe?" he asked.

[Roe]

Finally Roe got over his initial shock of Carter's sudden appearance and noticed that he wasn't alone. He was carrying what appeared to be a young frail girl. Roe couldn't tell if she was passed out, asleep, in shock, or dead. "Don't just stand there Carter .... bring her in .... lay her down here .... she is a she, right. We'll tend to her while you tell us the story."

[Carter]

Carter sighed in relief. "Alright," he said calmly, and lay Livia down in the space Roe had suggested. He flexed his arms as he felt her weight be released from his muscles. She was light, but it was still difficult having to carry her all the way from Nottingham.

"Well I don't really know the story," began Carter, "I stepped in after someone else had set Livia free. Her name's Livia by the way." Carter gave her a knowing smile. "So, she's a servant in the castle. Apparently spilt water on the Sheriff. So, well, I'm sure you can guess what came next," said Carter sympathetically. He had been fataly wounded in the Holyland, by the Sheriff, but some miricle made him able to pull through.

Carter had almost forgot the other woman was there. "Ah!" he said friendily, "So you're Will's cousin. Do you know he has a wife a kid?" No-one else in Will's family seemed to, but then again, Will didn't have a particularly large family.

[Annabella Scarlett]

Anna shook her head, timidly watching the man that had just burst in. She was not normally this afraid of people, but after what she had just been through, she couldn't help the caution.

"I haven't seen Will for about ten years... I know little of his life these days."

[Roe]

"Well .... I don't expect that she will want to go back to the castle any time soon then .... as long as the Sheriff's breathing then. As you know, Robin's suggestion was for me to be the inside man at the castle. I wasn't going to leave Anna here alone .... I was going to take her along as a relative of a myself as a returning knight. What are your plans?"

"Are you going to stay with Livia for awhile, or go back to the Forest. I wouldn't think you would leave here by herself would you?" Roe didn't know Carter quite well enough yet to be able to guess what he was thinking of his plans, or what Carter was likely to do next. He was so unpredictable at times.

[Carter]

"Well he has." replied Carter bluntly. "You're an Auntie!" he gave her a patronising grin, and then gave up.

"Ah yes. You're the new spy!" Carter said, turning his head to face Roe. "You're going to bring her into the castle? Would they allow that?" he asked frowning. "Unless she becomes a maid, or something." Carter turned back to face Annabella and then back down at Livia.

"Yeah I'll stay with her" he said, taking a seat next to were Livia lay. "But I don't know anything about healing. Hopefully one of you two does?"

[Annabella Scarlett]

Anna scowled at Carter, his patronising grin iritating her. Turning away she mumbled angrily under her breath.

"Actually the brat would be a second cousin... and I'm nobody's maid. Patronising jerk..."

[Carter]

Carter raised his eyebrows and folded his arms at the woman's responce. He didn't appreciate hearing things like that. Carter was patranising to everyone, it was just what he did. She probably thought he couldn't hear her, but he could. Carter pretty much saw, heard, and knew everything. He set his eyes coldly on hers, and sat as still as a statue. It was times like this that Carter could be extremely intimidating, or even frightening. There were two sides to Carter.

"Well how else do you expect to be allowed in the castle?" he asked sharply. Carter was dangerous when he wanted to be. And although this girl seemed to have suffered enough pain in one day, he might not be able to help himself.

[Annabella Scarlett]

She shrugged, keeping her back to him. His general attitude towards her was more than a touch scary, and she didn't want to provoke him any further if she could help it...

[Roe]

Roe could see that they had several issues at once developing in this small space. First, they had to see what condition that Liv was in and try to treat her. "Most of my medical experience is of the battlefield type. Then she needs to clean herself off, so that none of her wounds get infected. I hope she has no broken bones. Then the two of you need to get something to eat. Anna .... don't take Carter so seriously, but he does bring up a good point. What do you think would be able to get you in the castle. If you think you would be better off staying here with Carter and Liv, that's your call, but you must make it soon. I think the faster we get to Nottingham the better. What do you want to do Anna?"
