Support and why: Supports the King, Gisborne killed her brother Mathew when Gisborne threatened Kate with a dagger. A few short weeks later the new tax collector came to town and Kate was punished for speaking out. She was forced to entertain him at his home. Robin and Much appeared just as things where getting a bit ruff and Kate was branded an outlaw.
Personality: Kate is an out spoken girl who knows her own mind. She is argumentative and stubborn never willing to back down to authority no matter what the danger. Kate is incredible impulsive which has always gotten her in to trouble. Though Kate and her mother are always at each others throats and Kate can’t stand the family business she is an incredible family orientated person. To her Family comes first even if that means she has to live her life as an outlaw in Sherwood.
Kate likes to be independent and prove her self by doing things on her own. She’s the type of person who “acts now and thinks later” which is not one of her better traits. Kate is also easily annoyed which can result in frequent huffs and rants. Some where under the thick wall she hides behind Kate is a hopeless romantic and a deeply caring girl with a huge heart.
Life Story:
Kate’s life was pretty blissful and uneventful until the sad death of her father when she was just 16 years old. The responsibility of keeping the family business was too much for her mother so Kate has to roll up her sleeves and muck in. Kate took the death of her father hard she had always been a daddy’s girl. Kate and her mother where close but not nearly as close as she was with her father, they where always arguing and Kate would contradict almost everything her mother said. Her mother wanted Kate to be like the other girls in the village quiet and obedient and stay out of trouble but Kate had other ideas. She wanted to be like her brother and play fight run amuck and all the other things boys where allowed to do.
After the death of her father that close bond she had with her brother grew stronger. She had always been protective and had even fought with a couple of local boys who had been giving her brother a hard time. She had lost but not with out putting up one hell of a fight. Martha was livid saying she had made herself the topic of gossip in the surrounding villages, that it was not proper for a girl to be so outspoken and so strong minded how was she ever going to find a husband. Husbands had been the last thing on her mind and still are to present day.
With Kate and her brother’s help the pottery business survived and after a few rocky years they managed to make enough money to survive and pay off a few backed up bills. Then Gisborne took over Robin’s estate and things deteriated. Family’s going hungry forced to thieve to survive good men outlawed as the attempted to protect there families and that was only the tip of the iceberg. Kate’s family did what they could to help the friends in Locksley and gave what they could but they themselves where finding it hard to survive. With taxes growing higher and higher no one had money to spend on there pots.
In the spring on 1194 Gisborne and his troops stormed Locksley grabbing every able bodied man forcing them to join an Irish Armey. Kate had attempted to sneak Mathew out of the town under provisions she was taking to town but was caught by Gisborne himself. Any other girl would have stayed at home and cried but Kate being Kate set out to bring her brother home.
Foolishly she rushed in as the men where being moved to the castle and resulted in Robin getting mixed in with the new troops. If that was no bad enough Kate then snuck in to the castle posing as a servant to try and spring her bother free. Gisborne who remembered her face from the village spotted her and as punishment killed ordered her brothers death. Desperate Kate offered him information to save her bothers life, Robin hood was with the men.
Gisborne used Kate as a hostage holding her at knife point to lure Robin out but Mathew Kate’s younger brother forced his way out with the intention of stabbing Gisborne.
