Showing the Party Place

[Gary Taylor]

Alexis had wanted to go and do something so Gary would have to put off the invites for now. He wandered into the forest and saw Djaq a little way off.

He crept up slowly behind. A cheeky grin spread across his face. He was right behind Djaq. He swung out his sword and held it a centimetre from Djaqs neck.

"Caught off guard!" Gary joked.

[Djaq]

Djaq, expecting it to be one of the Sheriffs men, paused for a moment, and then suddenly twisted around, tripped him over and pointed her sword at him. "GET OFF....oh." She smiled as it was only Gary. "Sorry about that..." she said, holding out her hand to pull him back up.

Djaq's trip swept Gary off his feet and he landed with a thud on the floor.

"Ow!" He directed at Djaq. It hadn't hurt too badly, the forest floor was damp. "Last time I joke about with you!" He took Djaq's hand and stood up, then dusted himself down. As he shealthed his sword, he drew in a sharp breath and looked at his lower arm. A small cut was on his arm, it had gone through his clothes.

"Look what you did!" Gary joked. "My best shirt too! I must've done it on these," he gently kicked a little mound of dry, sharp twigs, "No problem though," he smiled and dabbed it with his hand.

"Oh gosh! I'm sorry!" she said, fumbling around with the various concuctions she had around her belt. "You can never be too careful at times like these..." she said, groping out of her belt some green herbs. "Are you sure you're alright?" she asked worriedly, and before he had time to answer, she started talking again. "Its the Isomerism herb. It heals simple cuts." she said quickly, as if expecting Gary to already know this.

She started dabbing his wound with the herb, "Its supposed to sting...sorry if it hurts, but it heals the wound very quickly..." she said, hastilly dabbing his arm. "I was just making my way to the Party Clearing." she said, concentrating on his arm and its healing, but also talking to Gary AND thinking about the party. Well, she was a woman, so multi-tasking was no problem.

She quickly whipped a bandage from her belt and whizzed it around his arm, tying it in a neat bow at the end. "There. Good as knew." she said smiling. "Anyway...why don't you come with me? It will do you good to actually SEE where the party is going to be...and maybe you can give me some ideas!" She said. "Hang on..." she said puzzled "Where's Alexis? Shouldn't you be doing your job with her?"

Gary hadn't really had a chance to speak. And just kind of, let Djaq do what she needed.

"Er... Thanks! It was only a small cut, but I suppose I don't want it to get infected..."

"Oh Alexis needed to do something. But yeah, I'd love to see where it is." He smiled at her. "Lead the way!"

[Djaq]

"Well, I'll try!" she said, walking forewards slowly. "But i'm not sure if Will marked out the path well enough..." she said, examining a nearby tree, and feeling if there were any markings. On that particular tree, there were markings, and it was in an arrow shape, pointing west. "West..." she whispered and jogged in the direction the arrow was pointing. "Come on then!" she yelled behind her.

Gary jogged on behind her. She stopped, checked trees and ran certain ways.

After a little while, Gary asked, "Are we nearly there?" Then Djaq stopped at a small clearing, with no leaves on the floor and some logs to sit on. "Wow!" Gary remarked. "This is great!" he stepped out into the middle. "We can move the logs over here." he indicated where he meant, "Get some musicians over there. Food tables here. Oh! And maybe..." He stopped. "Sorry, I'm being a bit controlling." He smiled. "Which probably won't make you feel the involvment! Are you feeling a bit better now?" Gary asked walking up to her.

Djaq smiled as Gary zipped around the place, talking about musicians and tables. As he approached her she smiled and said. "Yes. I feel better. This Christmas thing seems to make everybody really happy." she said smiling warmly at nothing in particular. "And when everybody is happy, i'm happy."

"Good!" He streched out his arms to hug her, and leaned towards her. But then stopped and quickly withdrew his arms, looking around, slightly anxiously - but not uncalm - into the forest.

[Djaq]

"Whats up?" she asked him, smiling, but confused at the same time.

[Gary Taylor]

"Sorry," he said, turning back to Djaq. "I'm being paranoid. And I know it's stupid because we forgave eachother but, last time I hugged you...." he was sure she'd remember, "We... we had a bit of a problem." He put it like that to make it a bit more of a joke.

[Djaq]

"Oh..." Djaq smiled to herself, she remembered the "ordeal" all too well. "Well, if you don't feel comfortable about it anymore, then fine." she said shrugging and walking away. "But it's alright, because I know you only have eyes for Alexis...and Will only has eyes for me...I hope!" she said grinning and turned to face Gary. "And anyway...i've been completely hugless since Wills been away." she whimpered, "And Wills not even here!" she added cheekily.

"No... I'm just being stupid!" he smiled, then walked up and gave her a hug. He held it for a few seconds then let go.

"And since when has Will been away? Nobody told me! Where's he gone?" Gary asked.

[Djaq]

Djaq smiled at the hug, and when it was over she started wondering around the clearing, thinking of ideas for decorations. When Gary spoke, she carried on walking around, but answered his questions. "He went away a few days ago, he didn't really give anyone much notice, but he said he got an urgent message from his brother in a letter he left at camp." she said, still busily thinking. "He's gone to visit his brother. I don't know when he'll be back..." she said, somewhat sadly, but tryed to hide it. "...so until then, i'll have to work on the decorations on my own." she sighed. "I don't know how i'm going to, but I'll manage." she said convincingly, but inside not convinced at all.

As guy marched through the forest with a load of men, he spotted an arrow on a tree. He looked at it, hoping it would be some kind of hint to where the camp was.
