Character Information:
First Name: Luke
Middle Name: Hasn't got one

Status: (Peasant, guard, official title etc.):
Place of Birth: Locksley, England
Current Age: 17
Date of Birth: 15th september
Parents: Dan Scarlett (deceased), Jane Scarlett (deceased)
Siblings: Will Scarlett
Current place of residency: Nottingham
Support and why: The king completely because he hates the sheriff with all his life. He was responsible for both deaths of his parents and also for making his life so shoddy because of it. As a result, he is obviously against him and wants him to be deposed as quickly as possible.
Personality:
The most noticeable trait of Luke that people notice before they even have much chance to talk to him, is that he is very keen and eager in most matters and has a very defined ambitious streak. Always eager to prove himself as quite an able and talented fighter and anything really, he has done some very stupid things at times to do it. Not that he has been deliberately disobedient to achieve what he wants to, for his obedience is very good indeed, but when he is given free chance to prove himself he generally fails due to a lack of intelligence on his part as opposed to not being physically capable, even if he is rather clumsy at times. However, he hasn’t let it get him down and he is still eager to prove himself and is very keen indeed to become an outlaw.
Another very noticeable thing about him is that although he is eager about pretty much everything, even the dullest of topics, he is especially eager about not being called young, little or being babied in any way. As the youngest, he is very much used to being wrapped in cotton wool and people making sure that he is alright all the time. Whilst when his Dad died he needed the comfort, and did not complain when he got it at that time, he has resumed telling people off for ever treating him like a baby and his temper can be quite short when people do. What most people don’t know though, if anyone does, is that he secretly likes being babied and looked after as he knows he would not be ready to face the world completely on his own and it was a definite scare that he would have to do that when his father died. However, he would never tell anyone that.
Luke is also a very secretive young man, and always has been. To even those who know him, like his father, he is a bit of an enigma. Of course, as you do spend more time with him his thoughts and secrets are easier to work out, but he hasn’t ever been entirely honest in his life. That is not to say that he is a compulsive liar, but more like he would always hide the truth if he should ever be suspected of doing something wrong or naughty. For example. When he got the tattoo on his foot he was very secretive about it and no one knows anything about a tattoo at all. Perhaps he should work on being more open, as it does make him sometimes hard to be around, but he doesn’t see it like that at all.
Finally, he is a very loyal boy indeed. He would do anything for his friends and remaining family, and would never shy away from his duty even if it meant that it put his own life in danger. A few people would say that he is loyal to the point of being a bit too tag along like, and should find some kind of independence for himself, but to Luke that is ridiculous. He knows that he should always stick around those he loves most just in case they ever needed him, which was why he was so eager for Will to come back to Scarborough with him and his father. In fact, his loyalty makes him quite heroic in certain circumstances, even if he does usually mess it up in the end due to being slightly stupid and clumsy.
Life Story:
Born to a poor carpenter’s family from Locksley, Luke’s early life and childhood was not remarkable or anything that anyone would even call remotely interesting. Everything about it was ordinary for a peasant boy of the time and he was happy. His days would be filled with just playing games and following his older brother and the other older boys around the village. They did say that he was a tiny bit annoying for doing that, but then as a younger child he didn’t really have the common sense to stop doing it. Besides, the adults said it was cute and so he just carried it on anyway, and as a result still does it to this day.
Besides from playing and proving a bit of a nuisance by following people round, Dan always looked to try and teach him the trade of carpentry like he had Will. However, it soon became very apparent indeed that the skill with wood that had run through the family hadn’t seemed to affect his youngest son very much at all. Generally, he was very useless at it despite his best attempts and efforts to be as good at it for he was eager about everything, he still remained poor at craftsmanship. However, no one said anything of it and his childhood remained happy until the new sheriff came to be in power.
Although his family had never been exceedingly prosperous, they had certainly been far better off when the sheriff was not around. For one, and the most important reason, they actually had enough to eat. With the increase in taxes, a lot of people did not have the money to pay for his father’s services and along with their own taxes that they had to pay, money became very stretched. As a result, in an act of self sacrifice that was one of the kindest things anyone had ever done for him, Jane gave up her own food so that she could feed her two sons. Soon after, she died of starvation leaving Luke absolutely distraught.
As the months went by, he got over the loss of his mother but not completely. He still missed her like mad and wanted the sheriff to pay for what he did, but whenever his temper got the best of him, his father was always sure to talk him out of it. In fact, it was a good family even with the loss of Jane. They still got along well and there were no hard feelings from anyone. In fact, if anything, it made Luke all the more closer to his father which was something he needed very much. Similarly, it also brought Dan close to Luke resulting in him being even more protective over him.
Conditions were still hard though, and this led to both boys having to go and steal food from unsuspecting sources just to make sure that they could feed both themselves, and their father. After all, he was all too aware that Dan would have happily starved as well to make sure that his two sons had enough to eat and he couldn’t cope with losing another parent. However, soon the stealing of food backfired and Dan lost his hand to pay for their crimes. Even if his father said not to be too guilty about it, he still was and loathed himself for a while for making that happen. Now, Will was even more hard worked than he had been before, and his father could barely do anything.
When Robin came back, it seemed that old lessons died hard however and both of the boys were stealing food again, but this time the repercussions were far more serious. They were caught attempting to steal some flower from a mill, and the punishments were very severe indeed. Sent to the dungeons and then to the gallows had to be the most miserable and daunting experience of his life, and he was very much expecting to be killed by the Sheriff’s executioner.
Then, though, Robin rescued both of them and it seemed alright from then. They had both had their lives spared, and they could carry on with living their lives as a good family like they had before. He wouldn’t even steal food, as he was far too scared to do that even if he was keen to live outside the sheriff’s rules. However, that was not to be the case and Will’s decision that he would remain in Nottingham with Robin whilst they went to Scarborough devastated him like the loss of his mother had. From when he was a little boy, he always liked to stay as close as he possibly could to Will and knowing that they would be split up hurt him terribly. The choice of what he would do was not his however.
Whilst in Scarborough, he was notorious for being a sulky and whiny brat who attempted to be rebellious but failed every time. Even if his father had only one hard, he was still far too scared to ever try anything against him. That was why the only real major attempts at being difficult was a tattoo on his foot, which he regretted immediately after so much that he refused to ever remove his socks. His father was bound to be annoyed, and so he did not want to show it him. However, after a while he settled down and returned to the old, overly enthusiastic Luke that had been so annoying to people before.
The return to Nottingham was a time of entirely contrasting emotions for Luke. On the one hand, he was overjoyed to be seeing Will again and he would be sure to make him come home, or that he would stay behind. He loved his father completely of course, but he couldn’t stick around when his brother was off fighting the sheriff. He needed him, and his loyalty was making it too difficult to just ignore that fact. However, he would have liked him to just return and when he didn’t want to, it upset him all the more. It opened old wounds in fact, and that pain was only to be overcome by what happened next.
Losing another parent had been one of the things he feared most, and when it happened he was crushed by it all. Now, all he had was Will and he would be all by himself in the world. The fact that Will also told him to go back to Scarborough hurt him even more as well, and for that whole time he was very conflicted indeed. The pain of being an orphan was the worst he had ever had to endure, and yet the pain that Will didn’t seem to want him around hurt even more.
As a result, he decided to stick around Nottingham, the only open display of disobedience he had shown in a while, and is very much hoping that he will soon be accepted into the outlaw gang.

Sample Role-Play
The Nottingham town centre was as crowded, noisy and oddly delectable smelling as it always was. Despite being a certainly poor town, it was still lively enough and that must have been because of the market that was situated right in the heart of it. The heavenly smells of all the various foods that had been gathered for sale never failed to entice the nose, drawing it in. However, not many people had the means to delve into their pockets, and actually pay for the more outlandish and tastier foods that had assembled, which was a great shame. The taxes deprived people of enjoying themselves, and food was just the start of it.
Of course, Luke had probably lost more than most people were very likely to at the sheriff’s hands. He had been responsible for the death of his mother, and the murder of his father. The look on his face as the sword was ran through him, still haunted his youngest son to this day and even though he didn’t like to think of such macabre and devastating things, he couldn’t help it at times. His father had been the biggest support he head received in the year that Will had been missing, and the fact that he was gone forever was unbearable at times.
Still, he did try to remain as upbeat and enthusiastic as he could, and to be honest that was the mood that he was in at that moment. Despite still missing his father, he was still always very eager indeed when the masses of Camelot came out to buy goods and just in some cases go for a chat with a neighbour. Most people would think the reason for that was because he liked being around people, in the attempt of distracting himself from his own thoughts, but that was not it at all. Rather, he knew Robin Hood and his gang would be coming to help the poor on days like this, and that was yet another opportunity to convince them how great he would be as an outlaw.
Pacing up and down the same street, eagerly awaiting the familiar face of either Robin or his brother, he smiled slightly to himself. This was the day. He could just tell that he would not be returning to that old Inn room where he knew not one face, and would instead be helping fight the man who needed to be slain like the monster he was. It wasn’t that he had a blood lust in his immature eagerness to become an outlaw, but he wanted to be around Will and Robin again. After all, Robin had saved him and Will was the only close family member he had left.
As he waited in silence, now deciding to slump against a wall, the sun began to set on him as the business of the town began to wind down. Perhaps today wasn’t the day after all.
