Grieving Lady

[Marian]

Guy had offered Marian his room for the night, and as it had a bolt on the door she had taken him up on the offer. She sat on the bed and cried, not thinking, not moving, just immersing herself in grief.

She didn't know when it was she fell asleep, but she was soon fast asleep on the bed, looking peaceful and calm compared with only her puffy eyes to tell of her distress of earlier.

[Robin Hood]

Robin had come for Marian; he could leave her on her own, not when he father had just died, and it would be just like the Sheriff or Gisborne to frame her for something when she was at her weakest. He been in her room, and she was not there - having searched every other room, this was the last place he checked. He was annoyed, jealous, hurt and angry, seeing her lying on Gisborne's bed. Had he taken advantage of her? Was there something going on between he two?

Letting himself quietly in, he climbed through the window and over to Marian's side. He looked at her sleeping softly; her eyes clearly having been plagued with tears, and gently shook her after watching her peaceful sleeping for a few moments. He felt horrible waking her; where she was now she could not feel the pain, hurt and grief, and when she woke up she certainly would. But if she was to come with him, it needed to be now.

[Marian]

Marian awoke with a start, and the painful emotions just came flooding back. She sat up slowly, feeling disoriantated by the different room, and then as she rmembered she began to cry once more. It felt as though all she'd done for the last few hours was cry; it was the only thing she could do.

Seeing her in this state, it was obivous that nothing had been going on between her and Gisborne. "It's all my fault...all my fault..." She murmered through the tears.

[Robin Hood]

He sat on the bed beside her, and as she began to cry he pulled her close, knowing what she was going through. He held on to her tightly, and unlike with Gisborne, she was returning the embrace as well as crying onto his shoulder.

"It's not." He told her firmly, whispering in her ear. "Don't say that, Marian...your father died a hero. He got the pact from the Sheriff...It was a heroes death." He knew this would necessarily help, but he had to tell her. He rocked her gently to calm her down, for her crying was becoming hysterical. "Shhh..." He murmered softly, holding her close and wishing he could take all this pain himself, rather than seeing her suffering.

[Marian]

She wrapped her arms around him, and continued to sob. "It's my fault. He escaped because I told him he was a coawrd. I-I said he didn't have a dream, like you...that he was j-just a coward." She siad through sobs; "That's why he escaped to get the pact...and why he's dead."

"I don't care if it was a heroes death, I just want him here..." She told him. She rarely showed her emotional side, not even to Robin, and now here she was as vulnerable as she'd ever been, having lost her father.

[Robin Hood]

He pulled her away from him for a second, looking deep into her eyes. "No, Marian. Don't believe that. It's not true." He paused, "Marian. I was with your father when he died. You know what he told me? He told me you couldn't lose both of us. And he also told me to tell you it's good too dream."

They stared into each others eyes longer, her eyes filled still with motionless tears. "He died knowing he would have made his daughter proud. Knowing I would look after you."

He swallowed; "That's what I want to do. Come to the forst with me Marian; there's no reason for you to stay here."

[Djaq]

*suddenly appearing from the door*
*whispering* Robin, the Guards are coming this way!
*disappearing again*

[Marian]

"Y-you were with him..." She said, and found it a comforting thought. "He said...that?" She felt a warmer feeling inside; her father said it was good to dream...good to dream for a better future. She just didn't want to do it without her father there.

She nodded; it was true, she had nothing to stay for. She stood up, but her knees trembled so much she had to sit down again. She was weak with grief - could she run to the forest, away from guards? Robin bent down and scooped her up, and she wrapped her arms around his neck, letting him take her wherever.She trusted him completely.

As Djaq said the guard were coming, Robin ran, carrying Marian as if she was no weight at all.

[Djaq]

*they ran through the castle, guards chasing after them*

[Robin Hood]

He nodded to Djaq; "Ok. We're coming." He picked Marian up as though she was nothing, because she was not strong enough to walk herself, and they left the building through the door Djaq had come.

He picked up a few items of Marian's clothing and possessions from her room, and then came back to Djaq. "We're ready." They moved through the castle, silently, knocking out guards as they went...

[Djaq]

*Djaq was manically fighting the guards, as Robin was carrying Marian*
*Suddenly, she had an idea*
ROBIN, MARIAN! CLOSE YOUR EYES!
*they did, whilst Djaq fumbled around her belt trying to find the right powder whilst fighting off the guards*
GOT IT!
*she hurredly got out the powder, memorising briefly where all the guards were standing and threw the black powder into all the guards eyes*
*the guards screamed rubbing their eyes, one by one collapsing onto the floor*
*opening her eyes* RUUUN!!!
*they ran out the castle doors*

[Robin Hood]

They closed their eyes, and Robin - hoping that no-one recognised Marian with him - continued to run. As they finally reached saftey, through the castle doors and towards the edges of Nottingham. He breathed heavily, as they stopped for a moment. "Good..thinking...Djaq." It was easy, running that fats and carrying Marian.

He looked round; "I think we lost them. To the camp?"

[Djaq]

*smiling victoriously* To the camp!

[Sir Guy]

knocks on the door, wondering if marian was still asleep, it seemed quiet Marian?! i went to open the door and finds it unbolted but i didnt dare enter if marian was asleep MARIAN?!
