Thea's eyes fluttered open to see Rober' standing above her talking quite quickly. She rubbed her head, then remembered where she was and what she was about to do. She stood quickly and took his hand, following him through the corridors and passages of the castle. Their footsteps echoed through the empty halls, but no one came to the sound. "You did a good job of distracting the guards." She said while running behind him. She could see a gate at the other end of the hall and knew that was where they were headed. She pulled him to a stop in the middle of the hall. She had a sly grin on her face that was illuminated by the torchlight. She could tell he was worried that they had stopped but she didn't care. She looked over his shoulder before facing him and without a word, she pressed her lips to his. "Thank you," she whispered before taking his hand and running off again. When she looked behind her, she could see Rober' and at the other end of the hall, three guards. She laughed at the sight and ran faster, absolutely exhilarated by the thought of someone chasing them. "Well, hurry up," she panted at Rober' jokingly.

They had swept through the service tunnel areas, until they had reached a final large hall. At the far end was the entrance to one of the gate areas. Suddenly, the little form that was Thea had pulled his towering form, relative to hers, to a stop. Surprisingly she pulled his lips into hers, creating a physical and an emotional moment that he had not experienced in years. Then, just as suddenly it was over. Looking back over his shoulder he said "not as good a job as I needed to do," as he saw saw the three guards. She was obviously excited by the sight of the guards and the gate entrance that would be their escape.
"Thank you," she whispered and then she called out, "Well, hurry up." However, Roe could not hurry up. There could be no evidence or witnesses of who he was, or that he had helped her, if it was possible. He banked on the fact that they would not want to lose site of here, as well as outnumbering him 3-to-1 for them to press forward to take him on and not wait for reinforcements.
As soon as they made their way down the passageway, their fate was sealed. Given the areas narrowness he only had to take them on one at a time, thereby neutralizing their advantage of numbers, though they had a disadvantage of skill. For the first he took his bow off his shoulder and fired an accurate arrow at a range of 25 yards. The second took a couple of knives through air at about 10 yards through the chest and neck.
Finally, he made short work of the final guard, nearly severing his head from the body with his 2 broadswords. Knowing she had been watching his performance from the gate, and sure that no one else had seen them, he rushed towards her at the gate, and said, "Let's be off then .... follow me," and he lead them through the gate in the direction of the Priory.
