Audience with the Sheriff...

[Lady Katerina]

Katerina let herself be escorted into the main hall by Allan, as they entered she whispered in his ear "Thankyou... I believe you are a good man" she giggled as if she had just made some joke in case anyone observed the whispered comment, patting Allan's arm she unlinked hers from his and gracefully descended the stairs, she had made a quick stop by her guest room to put on a lovely and exotic looking pale blue dress, she had artfully and quickly done up her hair so it was intricately piled on top of her head with tendrils framing her face.

She smiled beautifully at the Sheriff "Lord Vasey" she curtsied low and elegantly "My father once again sends his thanks for your part in my tutoring" she looked up at him through her dark lashes "And i also thank you, it is needful that I know how to run an estate, when I am wed I must help my husband with that task" she put emphasis on the "when" as if to say, she was eager to wed.

Katerina had always been a flawless actress and she played the part of a untaught maiden very well as all of her training had been kept secret. She played the dutiful and respectful daughter and lady before the Sheriff.

"Oh" she put a hand to her mouth "It occurs to me, you are yet to know me, I am Adolph's daughter Katerina" she blushed as if she had been terribly rude to assume he knew who she was.

All the time that she played the role she was aware of Allan standing in the corner, watching, she knew that a man like Allan might be able to see through her act... but Vasey wouldn't.

[Sheriff Vasey]

The Sheriff listened to her intently, once she had introduced herself he smiled that toothy smile of his.
"Nice to meet you Lady Katerina," he said, his voice layered with false politeness, "Yes, nice indeed."
He smiled again, resisting his usual rude manner. He didn't have time for her tutoring, he had more pressing matters on his mind, infact, he was slightly irritated by her arrival interrupting his plans.
Still, he should really make the most of it, every ally he gained pushed him further along the winning path.
"Watch and learn my dear, you'll soon pick things up."

[Lady Katerina]

Katerina leaned closer to the Sheriff "Lord Vasey, I have a boon to ask of thee... more of a whim" she glanced ever so slyly at Allan "My father has been wanting me to wed and under your tutoring I'm sure I'll learn to be a enriching wife... May i ask for the company and use of your man Allan A Dale?" she said too quietly for Allan to hear any of it, she would pretend this much so he could get a bit more freedom and her plans would be less hindered with him by her side for her stay "Many suitors have come to woo me but none have I fancied, your man is quite interesting" she smiled at the Sheriff, making out that nothing pleased her more than having him as her teacher.

He looked from Katerina to Allan and then back to her with a thoughtful expression across his face, after a few seconds he finally said, "Well, if that is your wish," he gestured to Allan to come over to them.
He was intrigued by her choice, in his opinion, Allan A Dale wasn't worth the ground he walked on, but this Lady Katerina had a very different view.

[Allan A Dale]

Allan walked over to the Sheriff with a puzzled look on his face, he didn't know what was happening, the conversation the two nobles had just shared had been too quiet to overhear, had he just been played? he would wait and find out.

As Allan reached the Sheriff's side he bowed "Yes My Lord?" he questioned in his quirky, I dont know whats about to happen, tone.

[Sheriff Vasey]

"Ah yes, you are to accompany Lady Katerina," he informed him in his usual almost patronising manner, "Show her round the castle and you will carry out her requests without hesitation."
He raised an eyebrow at Allan in that way you would when asking a child, "Understood?"

[Allan A Dale]

Allan almost physically sighed with relief "Yes My Lord" he replied gravely as if he had just been punished "Shall I show her to her rooms?" he turned to Katerina "Your orders My Lady".

Katerina smiled at the Sheriff then back at Allan "Yes, I need a few things for my room and you can get them" she took his arm when offered and they walked to the guest room that had been set up for her.
