Clun was somewhere where he had not ventured before, and he was glad really to find somewhere new and where someone would never expect to go and find him out. Whilst he was not the sort of person who sought after isolation, currently he didn’t want to be in the company of other people. His family were dead, and the last remaining one didn’t seem to want to know him. Of course, he had never said that but getting a wife and son was just... his stomach turned up at the thought. When his father had died he wanted it to just be him and Will since they were all that was left of the old Scarlett family, but now he had ruined it. Nothing would ever be the same and he had new relatives that he did not want. Djaq and her child did not belong in the Scarlett family tree, and he would never accept them as family.
Sighing, he looked down at the water. Luke was perched on the stone bridge, with his legs hanging off the side where the water was. It was relaxing actually, since it was very sunny indeed and there was a nice breeze. He wasn’t in good spirits of course, but he was comfortable at the very least and staying here was far better than being in the forest or in Locksley. There were places which he never wanted to look at again, since Will had ruined them for him. It was just a constant reminder of how he had betrayed him and wrecked any dreams he had of being in a family. Now he was all by himself with not even a friend to his name.
As a result of these thoughts, Luke looked very down indeed as he sat on that bridge, and was rather oblivious to anyone who happened to be around him. He was not in the talkative mood, and was far more likely to just want to be in a sulk than anything else.

Carter was simply strolling through Clun. It was a beautiful little town, and brought back many memories. Back when he was an assassin, he and the Sheriff had set up a trap for Robin Hood in Clun. The Guards had set fire to the village, and Carter had to "rescue" the villagers, all in front of Robin. He felt unbearably guilty that he could destroy such a lovely place, just for his own benifit. But then again, he did give the reward money the Sheriff had given him into reparing Clun, and now it was as good as new. Carter sighed happily. He was glad he was a changed person.
He strolled slowly up to Clun River. He smirked, as he saw a boy sitting on the bridge, dangling his legs over the edge. He shook his head. Those were the days. He trudged up to the boy, and for a split second he thought it was Will. He cocked his head to one side, confused, but then he realised this boy was too young to be Will. He quickened his pace, and stopped when he was next to the boy. He leaned on the edge of the bridge, and smirked. The boy didn't look to happy. Well, what did you expect from a teenager? "Nice day." said Carter simply.

Luke glanced round to look at the stranger when he commented on the day, and he nodded, vaguely. Of course, he did not know any reason at all why some random bloke would come up to him to talk however, and so he eyed him cautiously. Whilst he reckoned that it would be very unlikely indeed for him to want to rob or something of the sort, it was always best to be cautious when in this sort of environment. The sheriff was not a pleasant man after all and he could never be trusted. Luke was not as stupid to believe that the sheriff would be especially after him, but then he might always be after his outlaw connections.
“It’s alright. I’ve seen better days and I bet places like the holy land are better’’ Luke finally said, even if he did not like the holy land at all. That was the place where his brother had been stolen away from him, leaving him to fend for himself and with no one to rely on. “Who are you anyway? Most normal people your age don’t go up to teenagers to go and converse with them. They have friend their own age’’ he added, even if it was a rude thing to say. In the norm Luke was not an especially rude sort of person, but he didn’t see the need in being polite any longer. It wasn’t like anyone would ever scold him for being impolite.

Carter raised his eyebrows. "The Holyland? Its funny you should say that - i'm only just back from there." he said happily. It was uncanny, how much this boy looked like Will, he must have some sort of connection.
When the teenager asked Carter what he was actually doing talking to him, he didn't actually have a decent answer, so he veered off the subject. At the 'friends' comment, he scowled at Lukes rudeness, but had his back turned so he wouldn't have seen anyway. "Yup thats me. I'm afraid the only people I can talk to are moody teenagers. I can relate to them." he said sarcastically. He shifted his possition slightly before asking, "You know I can't help but wonder, do you know Will Scarlett?" He couldn't help himself.

Luke raised his eyebrows as well, before looking back into the river. Fiddling with a loose stone next to his side, he reckoned that it was probably dangerous to do so, but he didn’t care much. It wasn’t like he was going to go plummeting into the river to his doom, and so he could care less if he was messing with the brick work of the bridge which was probably cheap anyway.
“I know someone who just came back from there too actually. I reckon it must rot people’s brains and make them do stupid things. No offence’’ Luke said, with a fake sweet smile towards the blond stranger. It was true though, the heat and sand must have done something since he was not even aware of what had happened to his brother after he departed there, let alone that he was going to bring back a wife and son with him. He ignored the comment about being able to relate to teenagers, and merely rolled his eyes. However, when he mentioned Will he shot him a curious glance. “How do you know about Will Scarlett?’’
