This was the first time Basaam had ever been anywhere outside of the Holy Land, and he found it very strange here in England - and very cold! Saffiya had no idea that he was here, and he couldn't wait to see her face when she saw him here in the country that was now her home. Basaam sat on the bed nervously in the guest room, awaiting his meeting with the Sheriff of Nottingham. He had never met him before, but had heard a great deal about him and there were some things that he waned to settle with the man. He wasn't the sort of person to get nervous and he wasn't entirely sure why he was, afterall - he had nothing to fear - he simply wanted to talk to him, but the Sheriff seemed to have that kind of affect on people. ((I know it is completely **** but I'm trying to do loadsa stuff at once and I'm trying to move this bit of the story on as fast as poss so we can get onto the interesting stuff ))

The Sheriff entered the room, rather rudely failing to knock first. Two guards flanked him as he stood in the door way, automatically moving to either side of the large wooden door. His eyes fell on Basaam, a rather cold smile creeping across his face.
"Ah Basaam, how is your stay so far?"
A simple question, but made heavily sarcastic by his tone. The cold smile stretched into a grin, matching his tone.

Basaam turned as he stood up from sitting on the bed to face the door as he heard it opening. In front of him stood a rather short, balding man whom he assumed must have been the Sheriff due to the guards either side of him, and the little man's arrogance and feeling of self-importance. Nevertheless, Basaam was polite and civilized when greeting the man,
"Good day to you! My stay has been most pleasant, thank you my dear Sheriff, and may I say what an honor it is to meet you at long last, for I have heard so much about you over the years but never did I think that I would have the pleasure of meeting you face to face" Basaam beamed his charming smile at the Sheriff. He would have continued with the compliments for loner had it not been for the unimpressed and uninterested look he was receiving from his host.

"Good good, yes very good.." he at least attempted to make his tone sound polite. As usual, he however failed miserably. He threw the guard to his left a look, who then returned it with a nod leaving the room. After raising his right hand to scratch the top of his head, he took a few steps towards Basaam, almost as if he was checking on something. The way his eyes glanced over him and then around the room. Though what he was checking on was indeterminable. Needless to say Basaam's compliments, even if they were not meaningful gave the Sheriff's already rather large ego another tiny boost. Evidenced by the arrogant smile spreading across his face. Not another word left him as he wandered back to the other guard. He raised his right hand slightly, the fingers flexing for a moment as he held it in mid air in front of him then extended it towards the guard's longsword, pulling it from it's sheath. His cruel eyes then fixed on Basaam again, narrowing slightly as the arrogant smile stretched into a grin.

Basaam watched curiously as the Sheriff wandered around the small guest room. Basaam was usually very good at working out what people were thinking or feeling at any given time, but Sheriff Vasey seemed to have an aura of mystery surrounding him and Basaam just could not work out what was going on in his mind, but whatever he was thinking, it wasn't anything pleasant.
Basaam was just about to open his mouth to ask why it was that the Sheriff had requested that he leave the Holy Land and travel all the way to England to visit him, when, without any warning, the Sheriff brandished a long sword and held it, grinning wickedly at Basaam.

He turned his head briefly to nod to the guard, instructing him to leave. The guard obeyed immediately, turning to leave the room, closing the wooden door behind him.
"Hmm.." that grin of his returned to his face, "You see Basaam, I find myself in a tight spot. And I hear that you have a rather large amount of gold with you. Gold which I find myself inclined to relieve you of."
A few more seconds passed after he spoke, his body language said nothing towards his next move. He advanced towards Basaam, fixing his cruel, cold eyes on his, drawing his hand back, he thrust his sword forward, driving it through the man's stomach.

The old man stumbled backwards as the sword was plunged deep into his stomach. He opened his mouth to exclaim, but no words would come. Instead, he uttered a loud, low groan of pain as he stared straight into the eyes of his evil host, before letting his own eyes roll backwards, allowing blackness and nothingness to swallow him up.
