Marian was on her way to see her father, and lifting her skirts slightly so she could be faster, ran at the sound of Gisbornes harsh words.
"Less food? Gisborne that is not fair. My father has done nothing to deserve this. He is ill; it is me the Sheriff has a problem with, not him." She paused, deciding this approach would not do any good.
"Gisborne, please. My father is not a well man. How can he survive if he does not get enough food?"

The sheriff knows your father is your weakness so he is punishing the father in your place. It is truly your father which is keeping you here other that the house arrest

She glared at him, meeting his eyes with sheer hatred. "You are cruel, dispicable man, Gisborne." She ansered, angrily. "punishing an old sick man, not even questioning the Sheriff's orders. You're weak."
She paused; she knew it was stupid to talk to him like this, but she couldn't help it.
"I despise you sometimes. I can't believe I was about to marry you." She turned and began to walk away...

She turned to face him, shocked at his rough touch. Perhaps sometimes she thought she was untouchable; she really wasn't.
Looking into those cruel eyes, had she been a weaker woman she would have probably cried. They were destroying her fathers quality of life; it just wasn't fair!
"Sorry." She muttered, looking down at the floor, waiting for him to release her arm. She definitley didn't want his water cut...

Raising her head slightly, Marian felt confused. She did not understand Guy's feelings for her. Sometimes he was kind, other times heartlessly cruel; did he like or hate her? She hadn't a clue. He was sending out extremely mixed signals, but she thought he knew that she did not love him...
"Thank You, Sir Guy." She paused, "You are kind." She looked towards the frail figure of her father, and felt slightly sickened by what the Sheriff was doing.
"Sir Guy...may I have permission to leave the building today, just for an hour or so? I must see a physician..."

She wanted to see Robin, and although she could knock out the guards, it would be so much simpler not to have to. "It would be an hour, only, I promise. The Sheriff needn't know." She ignored the emotion in his eyes, for her eyes were pleading with him to let her go. She needed to get away from this confinement.

"Thank-you, Sir Guy. I will not forget your kindness." An hour of freedom? She had not had that in so long. She hated being cooped up in the castle, reminders of what the Sheriff was doing everywhere, the screams from the dungeons....it was a truly horrible place.
As long as she stayed within the hour, and no-one saw where she went, she would be fine...
Walking up the steps, she left Guy standing there alone.

Marian ran down the stairs to the dungeons, her steps echoing. "Father?" She called softly, as she saw him asleep on the bed.
"Father..." She repeated, shaking him gently through the bars. She screamed softly as a dead, bleeding man who was not her father rolled over. She remembered her conversation: she'd called him a coward for not helping, for not believing in Robin. And now...now he'd escaped. She ran up the steps once more, determined to find her father.
