Will Going Back To Camp

[Will Scarlett]

Will had just enjoyed a ivery cold wash in the lake near the camp, and for the first time today, he felt fully awake. You couldn't swim around in an almost freezing cold lake and not feel somewhat revived and energetic. As he walked along the pathway back towards the camp, he started whistling cheerfully to himself, his hair was still dripping wet, and he freezing cold, but he felt happy, as he had just enjoyed the best Christmas day he could possibly imagine, and he had spent it with the woman of his dreams.

[Djaq]

Djaq ran through the forest, unaware of where she was going, her hands covering her tear streaked face. She slowed down into a jog, and crashed straight into Will, who was walking and whistling happily through the forest. She removed her hands from her face,took one look at him, and burst back into hysterical tears, and ran away from him sobbing.

Will stood there in shock for a moment, trying to take in what had just happened... Djaq had appeared, run into him, and then run away in the opposite direction again... and all through this she was crying hysterically...

He could see he getting smaller and smaller in the distance as she ran away from him. What was he doing just standing there, he thought to himself with annoyance, he shouldn't have let her run away... something must be very wrong if she was this upset... but why had she run away from him? He started to follow, and soon broke out into a run, chasing after her, heart pounding, not knowing what to expect... what could possibly have happened to her back at the camp to make her this upset?

Within not much time, Will had caught up with her, and, still running, he put out his hand and took hold of her arm, slowly turing her around. "What...? What... what happened? What's wrong?" he asked trying to catch his breath and make sense of the situation, which he was currently finding it hard to do.

[Djaq]

Djaq felt Wills hand grab onto her arm, and she jerked it towards her, and broke back into a run. She could hear Alexis's words ringing in her mind, repeating themselves, over and over again. She could not get rid of them, no matter how much she tried.

She tried to contain her anger, because Djaq knew all to well, that when she got angry, there could be devistating consequences. She may not be a big person, but she had strength, and force. The strength and anger she had shown previously in camp, was only a tenth of what she cas capible of. She shook her head and faught back the tears. Surely, Robin wouldn't want her back now.

She tugged away from Wills grip, just wanting to get away, and be left alone. To think about things.

Will felt her pull her arm away from him and stood there even more confused as to what had happened. Why was she running away from him? Had he done something wrong? Had he said something? But how could he have done, the last thing he had said to her, was how much he loved her... so something must have happened whilst her was gone... but what... who or what could have upset her so much... and that was when the thought jumped into his mind. Alexis. It must have been her, she was the only one awake at the camp, and she was acting strangely that morning... it had to be her...

He ran after her again, but this time, when he reached her, he did not touch her so try to stop her running, he just looked sadly at her, trying to keep up the pace whilst speaking. "Saf... please... tell me what's wrong..." he tried to find the right words to use, as he wanted to find out what was wrong without upsetting her any more than she already was, "... is it... is it Alexis... did she hurt you Saf... tell me... I need to know..." he trailed off sadly, still running along beside her watching her shaking and trembleing body.

[Djaq]

Djaq stopped running and stood there, staring at the ground. She stayed completely still. Her fists were clenched, and she breathed in and out, to prevent herself from exploding. She turned and looked at Will sadly. She wiped the tears that were staining her face, and smiled. She had realised now, how stupid she had been. She was crying over practically nothing. Just some woman saying a few nasty words. Even if they may have been true...

She straightened herself up abit, and walked forwards, pretending that nothing had happened. She said a little hoarsly "Its nothing, I was just being stupid." Why would Will want to be with someone like her, if he could be with someone like Alexis. Robin would rather that Alexis was in the gang. At least she made the gang look better. What was she going to do? Without the gang, she was nothing.

Will hadn't really expected to get a straight answer out of her, but he wasn't going to give up that easily. He let her walk on a bit first, before stepping in front of her, blocking her way, so that she could not get past. "Saffiyah... please... do you really expect me to believe that everything is fine?" he continued to look at her sadly "... the last time we spoke, we were pouring out our hearts to eachother... and now... and now something is wrong, and you're not telling me what it is..." he paused and looked down at his feet "... is it me? Have I done something to upset you? Did I do something wrong? Please... I want to make it right... I want you to be happy, but unless you tell me what's wrong, I can't help..." he looked up from the floor, and into her deep, dark eyes and saw only sadness and pain. "Please... I love you..." he said almost begging her to tell him what was wrong.

[Djaq]

"But why?" she asked, looking back into his eyes. "Why do you love me?" she said sadly. "If I were you, I wouldn't love me. Why don't you love someone like Alexis? Someone...well...someone beautiful." she said sadly looking at the ground. "I don't disearve someone like you." she walked away sadly, fighting back the tears, and as she walked, she whispered, half to herself, half to Will. "I could have hurt Alexis. Robin won't want me back in the gang." she walked in a random direction, not quite knowing where she was going. "I don't disearve to be in the gang." When she was quite far away, she called after Will sadly. "I love you Will my darling, but I am no longer needed here." she let one tear fall, and then dissapeared through the trees.

Will stood there in shock for a split second before running after her again, through the trees an bushes that she had just disappeared through. "Saffiyah... I... I..." he stumbled over his words, trying to understand what she was saying, and what she meant. He had so much he needed to ask her... so much he needed to understand...
"I don't understand... If you love me... then why are you going... where are you going... what do you mean you don't deserve to be in the gang? Why don't you deserve to be in the gang? What happened back there?" he asked trying to keep up with her, more and more questions flowing out of him.
Once again, he stepped out in front of her, but this time he took her hands in his and held them gently, looking down at her sad face. "Saffiyah... my love... you say that you don't understand why I love you... do you want me to tell you why? We could be here sometime... but if you truly want to know... then I will tell you..." he paused and then looked deep into her eyes... "From the moment I first met you, I knew you were special... you were never just any woman... you are strong, and you fight like a man, but yet you are also gentle and kind and true... you speak your mind... but you are trustworthy... and I would trust you with my life... you're cleaver... intelligent... caring... funny... a great physician... and so much more that I will never be able to put down in words..." he paused momentarily before continuing, "...you say that I should love someone like Alexis... but that's what I don't understand... you say that she is beautiful, and that you are not, but you're wrong... you're very wrong... you are the most beautiful woman in the world... inside and outside... and... I just..." he looked down at the floor trying to think of the right words... "... you ask me to do something impossible... putting my love to you down in words... is just... it's impossible... no words will ever come near to explaining my love to you... and now, here you are, walking away... something is wrong, and you won't tell me what... you're walking away and it's breaking my heart..." he looked into her big dark eyes, feeling tears prickling his own... "If I've done something wrong... just tell me... please... so I can put it right..."

[Djaq]

"Will...I...I..." Djaq stuttered, feeling tears falling down her cheeks. She wiped them away hastily and gazed into Wills eyes. "Will...I...I don't know what to say..." she said. She held onto Wills hands, and felt like she just wanted to melt with happiness. She looked at Wills worried, concerned face, and felt her hands quiver. "I...I was stupid..." she sniffed, but carried on. "Alexis...was...Alexis was well...being unpleasant....about....you know....us..." she said sadly, looking at the ground. "She...well...she said....that....you were much to good for me...and...that the....the....the only reason you....you love me....is...because....i'm...." she whispered out the last words almost ashamed, "i'm the only woman you know..." she held back her tears and whimpered. "I wasn't thinking....i threw a log at her...and...well...Robin saw...and....and...got mad...." she shuffled her feet, "....and...I ran..." she shook her head realising how stupid she had been. "I'm sorry, I was foolish..."

[Will Scarlett]

Will looked at her sympathetically, seeing how ashamed she was at herself. He was still holding onto her hands, and he gently placed her hands around his middle, before pulling her into a tight, protective and loving hug, rubbing his hand on her back comfortingly, with the other one placed gently on the back of her head, whilst he quietly murmered random words of comfort to her. Her face was nestled in his shoulder, and he could feel his shirt becoming wet with her tears, but he didn't mind.
After a long silence, filled only with a few quiet mumbles of sadness and comfort, he drew a breath and said with a trace of anger in his voice "What she said... about how I only loved-" he stopped himself as he couldn't bring himself to say it, "...well, what she said... you know it's not true... you know the reasons that I love you... don't you listen to her... she's not worth it..."

[Djaq]

"But Will..." Djaq whispered quietly, "Why was she doing it...why? I hadn't done anything to her, she had no reason too. Even though I knew that she was with Guy of Gisbourne, I didn't tell....any...body..." she winced and then looked up at Will. "Ooops." she said quietly.

[Will Scarlett]

"Don't worry, I won't tell a soul" he smiled down comfortingly and reasuringly at her, before turning serious again, "She had no right to say what she did... and, as you say, you had never done anything to upset or hurt her..." he trailed off and stared into the distance "I'm gunna speak to her. I'm gunna tell her that if she ever goes near you again... then... then I'm gunna make her life hell..." he said threatingly, anger bubbleing up inside him. The thought of someone being so nasty and vicious towards Djaq made his blood boil.

[Djaq]

"Will..." she said, biting her lip, one hand on his chest, and the other still holding his hand, and her eyes looking up at him worriedly. "You don't need to fight my battles for me. I don't understand why she did it, but there must be a reasonable explanation. I must approach her about it." she said seriously, frowning at nothing in particular. "I must ask her why she did it, and what her reasons were." she looked back up at Will seriously. "Thank you for being there for me, but, i can take care of myself."

[Will Scarlett]

Will looked deep into her dark brown eyes, and nodded slowly. "If you're sure..." he said seriously, "But... if you change your mind... or anything happens..." he paused... "...basically, what I'm saying is that, come what may, I'll be there for you... no matter what..." he smiled down at her, and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead before continuing to gaze into her eyes.
