[glow=red]Rosetta walked on the road with her sword strapped to her waist and her bow on her back. She had walked from Cheshire her home county to visit the Sheriff and have words with him. She heard something in the undergrowth and got her bow at the ready. She loaded an arrow and fired. She heard a scream of pain. "Not again." she muttered she walked over to the bush. "Ok who are you. I do apologize. Come on." she said. She wasn't in the mood for games she was tired and hungry.[/glow]

Brother Tuck had walked quite a long way, and he decided that it would be a good time to take a break in his journey. It had already been a full day. Not too long before he had run across a young man whom he was quite sure was an outlaw, although he denied it. It was his best opportunity to get into contact with Robin Hood's gang, and it had slipped through his fingers.
Tuck just shrugged his shoulders and felt that it was not fated for him to find Robin Hood just yet. Now he couldn't just stop and sit down in the middle of the path, so he found a clump of brush and sat down on a large rock there, and took out a flask of water and a small piece of dry bread to chew on. It wasn't much, but it was filling enoughto get him through his daily travels.
Suddenly though, he heard and saw a young woman, well-armed, and quickly moving down the path. When Tuck tried to get himself more comfortable in his perch he slipped off the rock. It didn't cause a great disturbance, but it was enough the set the young lady off. She spun around and fired a random arrow without much aiming into the brush. Unfortunately for Tuck he wasn't in a position where he could either protect himself or get out of the way. He was lucky that she didn't have much to aim at, as it caused a deep slash in his forearm as it sped by.
At least as much as a result of being surprised as out of the pain it caused, Tuck let out a quick yelp. Seeing no reason to stay in hiding he stepped out of the undergrowth holding his left arm. "I am Brother Tuck, a somewhat less whole Friar than I was a few moments ago," he quipped with the thinnest of smiles.

She lowered her weapon. "Forgive me, Brother." she said. "I am Lady Rosetta Court of Cheshire. I have travelled to Nottingham to see the Sheriff. But I need a word with Robin. He fought with my father in the Holy Land and while he was trying to save my father, my father was killed. I just want to give him my respect. Im on your side I want to kill the Sheriff for what he's done to my mother also." Rosetta explained. She looked around. "Nice day. Here let me patch that up for you." she advanced to Tuck and ripped some cloth off her cloak and wrapped it around his arm tightly. "Better?" she asked.

Tuck was glad to see that his wound was more painful than damaging. "Of course you are forgiven, my child. The times cause us to be more defensive than we aught. However, you should always look before you release, if you are able. On the purpose of your mission, though, I think you are making too many assumptions."
"I am recently arrived back in Britain from the Crusades in the Holy Land, not nearly as enthusiastic in that mission as I was when I left, alas. I have returned to England to find it nearly as oppressed as any land as I have sojourned through. Despite all of the downcast feelings of the people, I have heard the name of one who gives them hope, and that is Robin Hood."
"However, I have yet to cross paths with him. All that I really know id that he is said to be a frequent dweller of Sherwood Forest. Just a short time ago I ran across a young man who I thought to be an outlaw, and perhaps my first opportunity to meet Hood. Alas, he ran off before I could make proper use of the contact. So ... I am searching just as you are. I am pleased to meet you Lady Rosetta, would you mind if I accompanied you on your search, since it is a similar one to mine?"
Tuck considered the other things that she had said. He found it strange that she was seeking out both Robin and the infamous Sheriff of Nottingham. "From what I've heard the Sheriff is not the talking kind .... what are you seeking from him praytell, especially since you want such evil to visit him? And yes, thank you for the bandage, it will be good to protect it as it begins to heal."
"I clearly understand your feelings of revenge, but ordinarily I am a man of peace, although I have used the more violent arts to defend those who can not defend themselves. You see, my interest is not to favor either the King or Prince John, but to protect and defend the common people, and that's why I seek out Robin Hood, since he is their best hope."

Rosetta smiled. "Well, I'm not a child of God. My family were of a differant and ancient religion." Rosetta said. She looked down to the ground. "My ways are my own, but I would like you to jon me. Robin should remember me seeing as he came to visit my father a lot when I was a child." she said. She looked up in the trees. "To be honest I have met one outlaw named Much. He was sweet." she giggled.

Tuck tilted his head back and gave her a low chuckle. He did not quite no what to make of this noblewoman yet. He did get rge feeling that she might have the tendency to get carried away and get herself in a deep pile of trouble quickly.
"Well ..... first off .... Lady .... you need to decide what you want me to call you. Secondly, I have seen, done, and heard much in my life. It matters not to me, right now, what your family's religion was, but how you treat your fellow man, and woman.
I thank you for the offer, and I have no doubt that he would remember someone as memorable as yourself, I am sure he would be quite suspicious of myself, as he should be," Tuck said, quite seriously. "It sounds like you are quite taken with someone," he smiled.

Rosetta smiled again. "Yes. His name is Much. Nice man. I heard he's a friend of Robin's is he not?" she said. It was getting dark. "Hmm. I'll go hunt. Im quite the archer." she said.

It was even more obvious to Tuck than it was before that she was quite taken with the outlaw, whoever he is. "Well, I will rely on your good judge of character in this instance. It seems that several times when I have heard Robin Hood mentioned that there may have been someone of that name that I remember. However, siunce I have managed to formally meet them yet, I can't verify he is with any degree of confidence."
Tuck noticed that the shadows were indeed getting longer, which of course indicated that nightfall was fast approaching. He thought it was best not to indicate that he had some prowess with the bow as well. "Since eating would be a good pasttime to engaged in, and all I have are some dry biscuits I think it would be wise for you to exercise your skill with the bow. Before you leave, though, we should set up camp so that you'll know where to come back to, at least."

"Yes. I don't have a good sense of direction." she laughed. Rosetta gathered a few dried leaves and twigs and struck two stones together until the fire was alight. "Right then I'll see you in a few." she said. She picked up her bow and left.
She stalked a deer carefully. She took an arrow and placed it in the bow. As she drew the string back she couldn't believe she was on target. She released the arrow and it hit the deer's stomach. She picked up the dead animal an took it back to camp.
"Im back." she said. She took out a piece of chalk from her bag and drew a circle around her and the deer. "Blessed be this food. Blessed be this meal, its comfort & fullfilment. Blessed is its nurturing blessed being this power that is with every bite. Blessed be for you, all joy and harmony." she finished the chant and put it on the hand made spit.

This should prove to be interesting, Tuck thought to himself, as she left to go on the hunt. At first Tuck stayed close to the fire that she had started, primarily to make sure it done not spread to the forest. When he was satisfied that it was going to stay contained where it was he searched in the nearby woods for some dry pieces of dense wood and some rapidly burning kindling that would both be useful in the cooking process, if she was successful.
Amazingly enough, she returned in short order with the object of her hunt, a deer. "That was very good .... I didn't expect you to be back so quickly with some edible game. How much experience do you have hunting, especially deer? The next time you should aim for the area just in back of the shoulder. Your more likely to kill it while keeping more of the meet in good shape."
"Hitting it in the stomach runs the risk of overloading the body with blood as well as leaking the contents of the stomach and intestines into the abdominal cavity. Also, there is a certain way to un-hide the creature. It has some sweat glands that can taint the meat if we're not careful. You've done excellently though, we'd better get to work on it while the meat is fresh."
Tuck pretty much ignored the chants that she made, or at least appeared to. Such things were not important to him right now. Many non-Christian religious practices had their good sides and although he believed thyat his practices were the best and most correct, he would not allow himself to pre-judge them unfairly.

"Sorry but I have been taught to cast these spells on meals and good spells on friends. I'm a Pagan." she said. She smiled and turned the deer carefull. She returned to her bag and pulled out a strange book. She flicked through it. "Anyway, my aunt was a catholic and looked down on the rest of the family." she said.

Tuck shook his head and smiled. "If you don't feel there is anything to apologize for then there is no reason to say you are sorry, is there. I just hope they have a positive effect and that you remain to be my friend," he laughed. "Life is a series of choices .... as long as you are happy with the choices you have made who am I to question you."
"I am not here to convert you .... to do missionary work. If you wish to talk about such subjects I am more than willing, but its not something I require. Your aunt was unwise ... its never wise to force you views on others or to try to belittle them for their beliefs."

Rosetta smiled. "Thanks." she said. She took the deer off the spit and carved it up. She passed some to Tuck. "Enjoy." she said. She blessed the food one more time and began to eat.

"If I have not thanked you yet .... thanks for the deer," he smiled. "Now that we are progressing toward having full stomachs ourselves, what are you plans for either making contact with Robin and/or going after the Sheriff, eh?"

"Well I don't know. I want to kill the Sheriff for what he did to my mother." she said. Rosetta looked up towards the stars. "By the Goddess I hope he dies of plague or something." she said.
